M46, 47, 48 was named for General George S. Patton Jr. our most Famous Tank General through out his Military career. This tank was the front runner to the M60 which is sometimes also referred to as a Patton Tank BUT it is not.The Patton tank saw action in 1950 - 53 in Korea. This tank has 3 German score marks on its Turret to Celebrate Pattons victories over German Tiger, Super Tiger and Panther tanks which were far superior to our work horse the "Sherman tank"

Very cool lego model ... but the Patton didn't enter service until 1949 and would not have faced German armor. The M26 Pershing had a similar look to the later Patton. The M26 was a late arrival to WWII, and the first twenty to reach europe did see combat. A M26 knocked out a Tiger and two Panzer IV, which would fit nicely with your model's box-score!

I actually haven't seen the original thing, but it can't be that far off. I love all the little external details, especially markings for the killed German tanks on the turret, great idea! =)
