A medium anti-warship bomber.
About this creation
The Schleiffen was created by the Mesarthrim prior to their invasion of Terra. It is a fleet-based bomber that carries breecher torpedoes for creating weak spots in the shields of enemy capital vessels. It is heavily armed and rather maneuverable for a ship of its size.
At 47 studs long, it's a pretty big minifig flyer. It is armed with eight fixed-forward Heavy Blazers, and four turreted Medium Blazers. The undercarriage supports a pair of large breecher torpedoes, and internal racks support six standard artillery missiles (which fire on either side of the cockpit.)
This model was my largest flying craft at the time I made it...or at least the best looking one so far. It was an experiment in several things, mainly the idea of using triangular-shaped hull sections (as on all my Mesarthrim flying models), but connecting them to make a sort of diamond/rhombus shape. My two favorite parts of the model are the internal missile racks (which rotate and hold 3 missiles per rack), and the rear turret, which turned out way better looking than I had hoped. I also like the Mi-24 modeled cockpit.
I would LOVE to get this thing built in digital designer. I may just goto digital designer and drag all the pieces I need onto the screen and by them...who needs directions?!?!
