Update 23-6-2010: Well, I haven't touched the ldd file fore a while. When I tried to make it, I had no time and will to make it. I also experienced some issues, mainly with the trigger pack and the bolt release. I will include them but give me time to edit them. But, I finally will make it in real life! Stay tuned!
This is my Adaptive Combat Rifle, aka Magpul Masada or the ACR. It is just an ldd model for now, but it will be built soon. It is the most advanced lego rifle I have ever created and does NOT shoot. All the features:
-85% realistic fieldstrip with the main parts:
-Handguard slides off after removing 2 pins.
-Barrel is removed when slided out
-Remove the bolt release (if you installed it)
-Remove connection between stock and upper reciever; folds like a AR-15 rifle
-slide the bolt out of the rails
-remove the pin of the stock, and slide it out
-remove one side of the fire selector en remove trigger and hammer pack.
-Very realistic looking
-Fully functional stock: collapseing and folding, with cheek rest.
-Magazine release by HeadShot
-Four-side rails for mounting optics/attachments
-triggerpack with hammer
-Working charging handle
-Working bolt release
-jSights: folding marksman sights
Note this rifle is not completley ambidextrious, but some parts are.
Now you wanna see pics, don't you :)?
All the parts. The mag will be bent.
Sights. Will be replaced soon, but these can do for now...
My very complicated trigger assembley. It was hard to make it realistic tough.
The barrel. I am very proud about this part since it is very realistic.
Well, uh, what you see here is a failed upper reciever design. I found it way to high, so i fixed it by lowering the bolt thus lowering all other upper-reciever parts (barrel, charging handle, bolt release button)
I am very proud since I worked on this 3 full days (2 hours a day, rest of my time got into my test week). I will make the gun in real life when test week is over.
For now, you can download the instructions below. Be careful tough, since it is not the complete bolt release/mag release so you have to use your own creativity to make it. Some moving parts may not work but this will be fixed when I made the real gun. I will also post a video how to field strip, since it can be confusing and different then the real one tough.
The reason I gave this a 4/5 is because of it's strength. I did infact build this with real bricks and parts of it were very weak, though I was expected with the complexity of the internals. Great build though. :)
