Entry 1: W.I.P Seterra
Since my childhood I've been a fan of Lego and have had a dream to built a big spaceship. Inspired by Mark Kelso's Invisible Hand and Eric Varszegi's Venator, as well as thanks to a meanwhile steady flow of money and a sufficient number of Lego parts from Bricklink, I started my project following my Motto: Don't dream your life, live your dreams! Big means big, so I decided to built a ship of approx 3 m length and 1,3 m width. Where I might end up with the height is not sure for the moment, let's see. Due to some lack of time - in order to assure the steady flow of money will not end :-)) - it has taken and will take some time to built this ship. What you see attached is the result of the last 18 months. I have to built the ship in modules, which I will assemble later, as the current place I build it and the one where it will be placed are not the same. Although the picture's could be better, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to all of you already for rating.
About this creation
The Seterra is my own creation, but will show several elements of well known ships like the Galactica and the Imperial Star Destroyer. The scale of the ship 1:1000. One of my targets is, to make it studless as far as possible.

The main picture shows the front part of the ship. In this part I will integrate also 2 parks, as the main purpose of the ship is to explore space and the crew should enjoy also a bit life.

Another shot of the front part

The ship will have in total 4 hangars where smaller ships are able to start and land. This is one of the 2 main hangars with my version of an Imperial Shuttle departing

the rear part of the ship with all these needed gimmicks for engines, life support systems etc..

A shot of the back part..

The engine section with it's in total 4 hughe Monster Turbine's

The middle part of the ship will be equipped with 2 modules - left and right fixed at the main "body" of the ship. These modules could be cut off in an emergency situation and could function as individual space ships.

Update 14.04.2010: I have worked on the pictures to make them a bit more interesting,as I was not so happy with it and had recently a bit time to do so

This is quite a project! Great details especially in light of the scale. The hangar bay is amazing on its own. Can't wait to see the next entry!

Impressive! Very nice details. I like the turbines but I have to admit that I still miss the picture of the whole ship. I guess this will be a follow up?

Impressive! I could never do that... I only wish for more overview shots to get the whole shape. The attention paid to details is, well, IMPRESSIVE. I like it alot!

Indeed the pictures could be better, working on this for next time
Quoting Matt Elliot Dude, awesome. I am very impressed with this monstrosity. I like the fact that it's not just pure grey (or bley) but that you're incorporating alot of white; it stands out beautifully againts the grey. One thing though: I know its a W.I.P, but I would like to see a little better pic quality - show this thing off!! Oh, and beautiful detail.

I'm overwhelmed. The amount of bricks and details you've put in this so far is truly astounding. This can definitely mess with a Kelso. I'm currently working on a spaceship as well, but yours is way bigger :) This is really amazing, keep it up, live your dream!

As far as it is finished it looks great. I always have fun watching those large MOCs with love to detail. It would be nice if you help me adding more value to my group "Beyond 15,000 bricks" which is intended to display only such large models like yours by adding your MOC there: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/11151

Right now, I've been awake for about 23 hours so I have to admit that I'm going to have to come back and REALLY go over the details later. BUT, in the mean time, at first look, this thing is going to be EPIC! Congratulations on your progress so far! I'm really floored by the amount of dedication to detail that you've put in to this so far and can't WAIT to see the finished product! Good luck on the completion and don't keep us in suspense too long! ~ Chris.
