NASCAR Chevy '01
Huge scale NASCAR car in lego!
About this creation
This model I made after I dissambled the AMX. I'm huge fan of NASCAR and i wanted to try out large scale NASCAR car. I'm not any fan of Harvick, but I needed a car with lots of white (since thats the color I can build with). It was also great plus that it was Chevrolet, back in 2001 it came down to Kevin Harvick's Goodwrench car.

This is far more better model than the AMX, because now I reduced the technical stuff to minium and made it only to look good, or even more, realistic. It has technic V8-engine connected via driveshaft to rear axle, but thats it. Front tires turn too, but are not connected to steering wheel due the massive problems with little space in front. The engine and rollcage take lots of space there.

Best part of the car is chassis and rollcage, they are built very precise after real worlds NASCAR chassis. Not even it looks good, but its stiff too. I was suprised that fact because I was sure it wont hold much weight. The body can be lifted off the chassis very easily in one part.

I tried to add lots of detail in the chassis everywhere, but actually theres not that much stuff in NASCAR cars. The engine comparment is nice in this car too.

The bodywork is good too, but the front is somehow wrong. Those race cars have so round fronts that they are hard to do, I've should done a NASCAR racer from 80's or 90's :| All the decals you'll see are all hand drawn with computer by myself (actually with MS PAINT!), then printed in stickerpaper and added to the body. I couldnt do the 29-number to the roof because I ran out tile-parts.

Overall, nice car with some flaws. The chassis is awesome, which is covered by not that great body.

   Real car.

   The decals lay down nicely.

Notice the same rearaxle than in AMX :D

   Trunk and hood opens.

   Nice engine with enough detail.

Fuel lines in place, the yellow one should be much fatter thou.

   The chassis sits good.

May not look like, but it is stiff.

I didnt have any space (or skill...) to make steering to work.

Very nice interpretation of the NASCAR stock car from that time. I especially love how well the interior, the engine, and the chassis fit into the body of the car. I am a huge fan of NASCAR and you did an awesome job making one out of legos.
