CDV-001 CAPRICA (Exteriors)
CAPRICA is the prototype of the most recent achievement of XIOTA SpaceWorks, and the corporationís first capital ship delivered for service in the Colonial Fleet. Designated CDV-001 (Colonial Deployment Vessel), CAPRICA will embark on a deep-space mission to deploy navigational buoys and communication relays in service to on-going exploration activities. The vessel is the first of the Capricorn Class Starship developed under the Zodiac Project Initiative.
About this creation

CAPRICA is equipped with several smaller vessels as part of her standard compliment including 2 CLT-050 Light Transports, 2 Butterfly Class Communication Relays, and 10 Standard Navigation Buoys. CAPRICA also has the distinction of acting as the trial platform for 2 prototype CRC-NX1 Runabout Class vessels.

The large forward and aft bays are designed to accommodate critical supply and repair roles for a range of small to midsize spacecraft. The aft bay is specifically designed for standard launch of navigational buoys and/or rapid integration onto the CRC-NX1 for precision deployment. Portions of the forward port and starboard cargo holds have been permanently converted on CAPRICA to serve as launch bays for the Butterfly Comms Relays.

Quoting El Barto ! So, are you fixin' to photoedit this beast? From the pictures, it looks like you're having a hard time getting far enough away from it! What is it like three or four feet long? Awesome!
This was my first attempt at a SHIP before Geminon, so has obviously long since been cannibalized, and yeah, had a hard time getting away from it in the small room it was in and was totally non-transportable. Lessons learned for the next one where I rearranged that room ;) It was about 4 ft (Geminon came in at 5 ft). I actually had thought about doing a photoshop on it at some point and then started work on Geminon so almost forgot about my poor Caprica. Thanks for the reminder!

Love it! I like the blue/black color combo but best of all is the story. Great ship overall: design, colors, hangar bay, cockpits...you name it!

Quoting steve emmenegger It's a nice ship. I love the shape. Now regarding greebles... I know many people love these greebles and there are greebles masters in here. But personnaly, I think greebles create a "low tech" feeling and very fragile ships: just shoot some of these pipes and the whole reactor shoulg go critical... BOUM !
Generally, I agree with you on the "functional" perspective. Fortunately, creative license allows us to excuse it.
