"Where All Our Hope is Laid..."
During a long and bloody struggle on XB-937, both the COP and UNE had reached the breaking point, being stretched out so thin. The COP made a desperate all-out offensive in a final attempt to break the UNE lines. This is just one part of the attack that characterizes the dedicated defense of the UNE.
About this creation
Ok, bear with me, lots of photos.

Skyline view of the battle. Up the trench, if you will.

The UNE chose the perfect killing-zone. The end is boarded up by a logged structure. Not much, but it stops infantry and some small arms fire.

If it weren't for the stalwart defense of these soldiers, the entire line might have fallen. In the words of John Moffat, the President of the UNE: "If it weren't for the stalwart defense of these soldiers, the entire line might have fallen." (I lie not, ladies and gentlemen)

Actually, this battle is all but over. As soon as that rocket hits that COP aircraft, and that slams into the infantry below, its a matter of seconds afterwards. If you're thinking: "WTH? That chopper could evade that slow rocket!" Yeah, most likely. But not at less than 10 meters, that would require super-human reflexes which the average, barely trained COP pilot doesn't posses.

UNE infantry units:
1051st Elite Guards (blue/grey) a light infantry unit.
222nd Regular Infantry (grey).
445th Heavy Infantry (green/grey).

"All hail the Emperor! Charge, brothers! Whilst I hide behind this nice wall here, safe from the bullets, explosions, and general mayhem. Oh, and if you act as cowardly as me, I have a gun, and I will shoot you!" -- COP Enforcer (black uniform).

"Gotcha with my grenade!" -- UNE heavy infantry grenadier.

To the best of my knowledge, the anti-vehicle barriers designs are mine. I don't know who the barbed-wire design is from, I've seen it so many places.

The APU-22 DG is a modified version of the APU-22 Lynx that was sold to the UNE under the Lend-Lease Cooperation Act with the TPC. The actual meaning of the DG has been lost to the affectionate name: "Dancing Girl" because of its lengthy legs.

Modified by the addition of movement stabilizers on the feet, added a half-foot to its height. It is equipped with two medium machine guns, four heavy slam rockets, and one heavy anti-armor cannon. This mech is attached to the 445th heavy infantry.

Here is the COP chopper. With minimal armor, amazingly horrible handling, and low ammo capacity of just over 1200 rounds (which it manages to expel in just over 10 seconds) the Y-T17 is a great infantry killer, but has little to no staying power. Used to deliver hard-suits into battle, it also serves as a light transport.

Quoting Mark Kelso Wow, this was another tough decision. In the long run, I think this one squeaks by Morgan's entry with it's complexity and action. He had a very well executed MOC, and a very nice design, but you really went all out with the addition of the military machinery to an already complex dio. And you still managed to keep the scene clean enough to not feel crowded or too visually busy. Well done, and congrats...you've got my vote.
Whooo-hoo! Thanks, Kelso!

Awesome build! I like the mishmash of colours on the UNE side, when contrasted with the COP standard white.

I think the blitzkrieg had failed, which is why they've sent in the cannon fodder. Hence the "desperate all out offensive" by the CoP.

I see. I had more to say, but then I forgot the contents of your comment.

Quoting Awesome-o-saurus The Not-So-Great We'd have sent in a tank battalion first. And if that failed, bombed it. Then bombarded it. And then sent in the canon fodder. After them would come the marines you are showing here.
Like spazt said, this is well after both sides lost the ability to wage textbook offensives.

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J That's intense! With in that "closed quarters" engagement, nobody should have survived!
Battle of Antietam anyone? Yeah, too many men in too little land makes for high casualty counts for sure!
