XT-576 Prototype Mech
A little mech I made for the "2010 Mech Contest" in "Unmanned" category. This is my first time with a walker mech and I think it turned out quite good, I'm playing the categories by my weaknesses first ;) I also gave it a back-story to help describe it better too..
About this creation

Backstory

Taken from the log of scientist John Risher: As I'm thinking about what occured this morning, I remember it clearly. This morning, Excelsior Armor Engineering was working on a new mech: The XT-127 Prototype. We've equipped it with deathly weapons and artificial intelligence, making this a threat to many of our enemies. The only weakness was it's size, only making this about twice as large as a normal human bring, but hell, we'll just shoot for that in Mark II. Many of my fellow scientists are getting quite frankly, "scared" of the mech. We're still testing it's intelligence and many of us are afraid if it got too intelligent, it might create a mind of it's own and rebel against us. They were right. This morning, as soon as we unlocked it's leg locks, it sprang into combat mode, shooting it's grenade launcher at the viewing window, shattering part of the building and killing 2 of my fellow scientists. Guards came from everywhere, but the mech was too powerful for their machine guns. It crumpled down the wall, and it broke out of our facility. That was the last I ever saw of it, but we've had reports of sightings of it in numerous areas, terrorizing innocent civilians..

The side of it.

The back of it.
--

If you look closer, you'll se that the dark grey panels near the legs are "unlocked"

Here's the back with the legs "locked".
--

Here's a closer look on the head, notice the floodlights, I'm quite proud of the grey slanted grates (If that's what's it's called)
--

Here's a closer look at the feet and the leg design, I'm quite porud of the "telephone foot" design I got there. The legs are also quite flexible..

Commentary: Well, my first "walker" mech! I wasn't really sure how to describe it, so I just made it into the log.

Quoting Mr. Rahkshi8000 I think big things can come in small packages, and I think the legs are neat. The top needs work, but overall - 3 points.
Thanks!

Quoting Mech Man Score of two. DOnt mean to be harsh. But you do know there is no piece count to this, Something larger would have been to my taste. But still Great Job!
Sorry you didn't like it =( I'm building a larger mech for "Classic" though..

Quoting Matthew David simple, coordinated, good parts usage. Call me generous, but I'm gonna have to give this a hardy 4 points. It's cute. And, I'm in a good mood.
Thanks! =DDD
