GM03 - Trauma vs. Dystor!
Hundreds of years later, find the destiny of the heroes of Gala magna! A tragic showdown awaits!
About this creation
300 and change years have passed since the Heroes of Gala Magna faced Trika and Antrex at the gates of Ilmar.
After many battles, and the complete defeat of the Warlords, only 2 of the Toas remained.

Dystor lost his artificial arm long ago and his powers are almost depleted, bringing him down to the level of a Turaga.
"I'm all spent" he thinks, wandering the Grand Desert, "How can I face the coming Darkness?"

Yet against all hope, a strange encounter changes his destiny: T'gy, an Agori of a Fire tribe, challenges him to a fair battle refusing to give any explanation.

After Dystor's victory, the reason is revealed.
T'gy is both an archeologist and a weapon designer. He has recovered a huge gear (probably long belonging to a Great Spirit) and turned it into a weapon. He was looking for a strong and honorable soul to wield it against a dreadful new villain.

The 6-Gear, how T'gy calls it, is supposed to give power over 6 elements, but only the soul of a true Toa can control it.

He had no time nor the elements to complete it, but as it is it still grants 4 elements, and he was able to pack in a little extra.

Fire

Ice

Plant Life

Metal

T'gy's "personal touch". The 6-Gear will lose this form once complete.

And just what happened to the other surviving Toa? Forgot about him already, didn't you?

Over 150 years ago, during the final battle against Maketh (Antrex's ancient Master), Skrallest's brother Tar'kuma died.
Traumatized by the experience, Skrallest magically merged with his brother's dead body in the attempt to revive him.

The result was Trauma, a mostly new individual, combining all the attributes of the two brothers, with faulty memories and criminally insane.
(The name Trauma means nothing in the tongues of Gala Magna, it's just a merging of Tar'kUMA and skRAllest. The assonance is a mere coincidence)

Trauma has lost most of Skrallest's intelligence, but he has several times his power. He can't cast spells anymore, but he can control the weather and cause earthquakes, both at a cataclysmic level. His physical strength is also currently unmatched in Gala Magna.

He has also acquired Tar'kuma's ability to split between his Glatoran and his Rahi nature, becoming Tau, a hideous spiderlike beast and Rama, a powerful wizard with outstanding physical prowess.

Separating

Transforming

Rama and Tau. Trauma has no such thing as a thirst for power, like the Warlords used to. Though he's not a hulking brute, his only wish is to destroy everything.

Let the doom match between these old comrades begin!

Who shall emerge victorious? Will Trauma's insanity ever prevail over Dystor's wisdom? Will Dystor be able to put down his long lost friend for the sake of his world?
Only time will tell. Either that, or the next part of the Chronicles of Gala Magna...

Bonus shots

Trauma came out very well, its frame is near-human poseable, but the armor limits its movevents a bit, so he can't perform martial arts.

Back view

I'm quite proud of his foot. It's stable, strong-looking and it can flex its toes. I hate that those connectors don't come in black.

-About Bionicle-
As you know, I have loved the Bionicle building system since before I came here. It's simple, and it allows to build very cool MOCs with moderate effort.
I loved it even knowing SQUAT about the Bionicle background, and up to now I made painfully my way between Toas, Makutas, Rahi and all other stuff.
Then a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a couple of words: "Bohrok" and "Turaga".
I Wikied them to check them out, and I stumbled on a whole universe of wonder... the Bionicle universe is rich, complex and wondorous. Full of facts and legends and populated by a variety of life forms, I spent the best part of 3 hours exploring it.
Epecially those among you with a little broader general culture, or a passion for cosmogonies, myths and legends could find the Bionicle universe very appealing.

Addendum - very easy poseable Toa-sized body (I used multicoloring for a clearer view).

This is made wih only 6 pieces, it's only slighly larger than a basic Toa body and quite effective if you manage to cover the arm piece under some plating.

You can change the arm piece to get different looks and proportions.

I hope you'll find this useful.

Note #1: thanks to Giovanni Seynhaeve for using a pile sheet as a background. It works extremely well and it prevents flash flooding :)
Note #2: Dystor may be considered my Self-MOC, for the time being.
Note #3: of course Trauma is also a Bionicle Combiner, though he's too tall to qualify for the Combiners Contest at Bionicle Display.

Comments are, as usual, welcome.

I've loved this MOC idea for a while, but only recently got back onto the lego scene (last christmas was a nice parts infusion for me), so I've been wondering about the Six-Gear. Who's universe is it from? and if it's your own, may I appropriate it for a series I have in mind? Ps; Dystor has been such a cool character to watch through these MOCs! I'm jealous!

I certainly like this, but it looks realy much like something i build some time ago, that is a lot smaller, also good movable (But still some armor problems) Only 2 big differences: Yours is huger and it doesn't actualy 'Transform' Its 2 separated models, mine, does transform, also in a spider-like creature. and 2 a lot smaller differences: Colors, i used black and silver parts and parts, ofc...Love the legs of this one ^^.

Trauma's a nice combiner, but the combined form isn't as impressive as some of your standard titans. My main irk is his legs; they seem too small for the complete moc, but are oversized on the humanoid half. Dystor's new build is pretty good (especially liking the new Ben 10 hands), but I would remove the spike on the head and add some red pieces. Also, on Fuzz-E's Xara, you commented on not finding any good deals of the black axle pins. I did a little digging, and I found this offer: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=kkarelll&itemID=16932549. Good luck beating others to them!

Oh... yeah, I tried to do that several times, but I was never satisfied with my results. Whenever I find a cool design, it's not sturdy enough to endure active playing, which for me is essential in a build (not that I play with my MOCs "crash-boom-bang", but I like to know that I could if I wanted to).
Oh I see. The torso looks useful and interesting BTW.(as well as being able to withstand the crash-boom-bang.) xD hmm. the qoute stuff got messed up. oh well...

Quoting Yuri Fassio Except for the bare head (but I smiled reading why it's like that), I really like this design. I only think it needs more poseability, most of all in the knees and elbows.

Nope. I checked the story only recently, out of curiosity. I was amazed! It's so rich, and so coherent (at least in its Wikipedia form). Thanks for the address.
Quoting jason corlett Very cool! Every entry i see is better than the last! This is going to be a tough competition! All three look fantastic! I just might borrow that torso design :)
Ehm... I'm not competing. And it's also too big. Thanks for your compliments anyway :)
Quoting Toa Airtoka God of Air nice design at the end and that 6 elemental thing is really cool!@! but you forgot rock and water
That's why it's "incomplete". It was a bit of a scam to avoid color redundancy: I already used blues for Ice and black is Dystor's main color.
Quoting Nitrosity The CyborgNinja I definatly think that trauma will WASTE Dystor.
Powerwise you're righ, but aren't you forgetting that Dystor was considered to be a strategic genius, and Trauma is, well, a crazy person?
Quoting Fuzz-E (Ryan Z.) The different element arms are cool. But why is this is in the Isle of Thorns? sure doesn't look small to me. Could you remove it, please and thank you? anyways, I'll give your MOC a 3. It needs more custom.
It's there because of T'gy. He's a key element in this and maybe the next episode. but if you feel it doesn't belong, please feel free to delete it. And... "custom"?

AWESOMENESS! these are some more great examples of your awesomeness at building bionicle. you really should read the whole bionical story. i got the lego magazine when i was younger (i signed up again a few months ago, cause i recently ended a 2-3 year dark-age) so i used to get the bionicle comics every month, the storyline is very indepth, and the worlds are really developed, if you havn;t read all of the bionicle story, you definatly should. anyway, great moc! i like Dystor's new weapon, it's a great idea, and the design of trauma is really good, i love the spider Rahi, and all the detail you included on trauma. i know he's the bad guy and the good guy should always win, but i definatly think that trauma will WASTE Dystor. either way, it will be an EPIC battle! great moc!

Ok for me Dystor is a pretty easy build however your multiple presentation of him with different arms with clean crisp pictures make him stand out and differ from many people who post similar build. For some strange reason I kinda liked Dystor with an Ice arm compared to the rest probably because its something I have not seen color combined before and probably because of the unique contrast of parts and colors. Now Trauma definitely stands out especially with his complete form. He looks wicked in all angles and would put Tuma to shame. Its a shame he is not acceptable as an entry because it would certainly challenge the more seasoned builders here to create even better creations.
