About this creation
Like in title - remake of one of my most beloved machines ever. Warhammer Dreadnought is an unique mecha with its origin, bulky look, and (usually) melee weapons. And I think that it deserves for better appearance in Lego than my first try.

The banner is of course homemade; This Hellfire Dreadnought belongs to Blood Angels chapter.

New model is better in anything (almost, but later on that) compared to older. Better looking, resembles original one much more, and is also much more posable.

On this photo its body is rotated, but legs are still in the same position...

...and here it is exactly 180. It can easily do 360-degree spins.

Of course both weapons can move up and down, and both can again make a full 360-degree spin ;]

While high posability, it also possesses high stability. Standing on one leg? Eeeeaaaasy.

Hellfire dreadnoughts are meant to work as infantry support, engaging vehicles with their missile lauchers...

...and infantry with autocannon. The autocannon model has one nice feature, but due to the order of photos it will be explained in the end of stream.

I am not sure what this so-called "auto-launcher" does; Codex isn't saying anything on that. However it is a nice and usefull-looking feature.

Legs are still not as good as I want; I just need large red wheel interiors for making them totally PERFECT. Just 2 parts. Those gray hoses between the legs should be shorter, but Lego doesn't produce shorter.

Back is as detailed as the front is, or at least I tried it to be so.

This photo shows the method I've used for installing the chain. Stupid, but surprisingly works. It is just a 1x1 brick with headlight, with plate 1x1 with clip attached to the headlight stud. Then, the chain is just on that and blocked by a red brick on the left that prevents it from sliding off. Loose but works fine.

And the little feature: the barrels rotate exactly like they should - so the main barrel (with red tip) remains static, and the rest 6 rotate juts like in a revolver.

Hard to see, however possible: in previous photo one of barrels was directly pointing at the red tip, in this photo noone is pointing at it.
So, what is the only thing at which older Dread was better? Durability. Making better look = using more SNOT.
And more SNOT = less durability. Ever.

Great job on this moc. I personaly play as space marines in the 40k universe and I think it would look even better if you add a veteran symbol to the side of the cockpit. There are pictures on the GW website. Id like to see more 40k out of you. Again great build.

I haven't played or even seen Warhammer 40k very much but from an on lookers standpoint I have to say this thing is absolutely awesome. I especially like the fact that it's practically studless, the autocannon actually works and the fact that it's so bulky; the skinny mechs never seem as realitic as the bulkier ones, such as this. Fantastic MOC!! |

Awesome level of detail! Ok, enough "encouragement", marine. The emperor needs his army and you need to build it. |
