Now, being serious...this is one of the comparison pics between my LEGO version and the symbol used in the game. The proportions are good, meaning that at least I've got the main parts right and the rifle is at scale with itself (making it the right scale for a minifig *and* detailed enough to make it recognizable is impossible without using lots of heavily modified pieces). It's by no means fully detailed (the protuding ammo clip, the two little support rods, a correctly shaped sight), but it's the best compromise I found to make it as small as possible. Notice the difference between the version featured in the first game (on the right), ad the Halo 2 one (on the left). My rendition is somewhat a mix between the two, because it has a shorter "rear", for lack of a better word, more similar to the H2 version, and a handle that's similar to the H1 one.
The Assault Rifle. As you can see in the picture, the overall shape should be right, and it's small enough to be to scale with a minifig. The building isn't complicated either, and it features only one modded piece, that I recycled also for the tip of the Sniper Rifle. The only piece you can't see is the black screwdriver that holds the whole thing together.
The Shotgun is the one that IMO offers the most room for improvement, if only because there are several ways to get its shape more or less right. I went for the 'bulky look', as opposed to the 'slim look' of the Technic pin inserted into a normal Lego rifle: this makes for a better pump part, but the stock isn't as accurate. I'm currently trying to find different solutions for the stock in order to achieve both accuracy and a certain degree of playability (i.e. a minifig can actually hold it).
Thanks to the rigid Brickshelf system for ordering pictures, you're forced to see another comparison of the Sniper Rifle. If you actually managed to read through my entire and extremely verbose commentary, thank you (and congratulations for your not-so-common patience), and please leave a review to express your opinions, comments, insults, or death threats.
Wow. I never thought of trying to use binocular and other pieces to make one totally sweet MA5B.
You're Sniper rifle is phenomenal. But your M90 is a little too robust(meaning fat) I wasn't really impressed with that one but good job on everything else. Good luck trying to come up with a better Shotgun ;).
