The Patriot
For the Brickworld fly-in.
About this creation

I built this for the Brickworld fly-in being organized in memory of Nate "Nnenn" Nielson, a builder of most excellent skills who recently lost his life, leaving behind a wife and two young sons.

I've come close to building a Vic Viper before, but this is the first time I ever actually tried it. I decided to call it the Patriot because, well, I'm patriotic. The color scheme had nothing to do with it.

Ok, backstory time kids! The Patriot is a medium range scout/fighter based on the Shenandoah. You can learn more about my little space pirates universe right here .

This little beauty is fast and manueverable, but it does have some teeth. A couple of forward-mounted laser cannons and wing-mounted "baby tach" bombs do it some punch in a pinch. Rafe Tokor's brave pilots keep watch over the Shenandoah as she patrols the quadrant, searching for UPDF cargo ships and watching over an Moron cruisers as the go on manuevers in UP space.

All right, back to me now. I really like the shape of this -- it's nowhere near as "out there" in terms of design like Nnenn's stuff, but I'm pleased with it. I went from start to finish in about a day, so either I'm growing as a builder or just got lucky. We'll stick with lucky, by the way.

And that's a wrap.

Another very fitting tribute. And like I told you before... I'm totally stealing a lot of these ideas. ~ Chris.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Very good for a venture in an unfamiliar territory. But again, you ARE Dennis Price...
Yeah, everything's unfamiliar to me, Yogi.

Nicely done Dennis, nicely done indeed. Some clever design elements, nice use of snot technique, and a clean colour palate. A very mature build - never would have expected that from you ;-) Lee.

Whoa, Nnenn is dead? What happened to him? How did he die? The MOCPages will surely miss him on here.
