I made this for a 'For The Love Of Cars' competition for the medium cars technic category with plenty of functions...
About this creation
This is my vision of a '32 Ford hot rod - "B:Sting" - so called mainly 'cos it's yellow..
The body is 10 studs wide (+wheels) and has enough room for plenty of technic features and Bob the Maxifig - well, most of him...
Like all good hot rods, this has a V8, driven by the rear wheels, plus working steering and live axle rear suspension. The engine doesn't leave a lot of room for Bob's legs...
On the body, the doors and bootlid open as you'd expect and the two piece folding roof works - if you kick Bob out first, he's got a big head...
Front view : comin' at ya!
With doors open ..
And bootlid. Rods don't need luggage space..
Like every good B, there's a sting on the tail...
With thanks to Steffen Rau for the idea of using a Maxifig.
Wonderful, I think I need to search for the instructions of my old technic sets and rebuild some of them to get used again to the building technics used there. And then build a MOC in this beautiful style. (And thank you for the reference)
Love this! Not as neat and tidy as if it used modern bricks, but that's partly why I like it so much : ) Decent Technic features (which a lot of the more modern smooth models on this site lack) and a cool bodywork design too - I've done a similar grill technique on my Rat Rod. 9/10
