" THE PANTHER V " Built to counter the Russian T-34 the Panther is considered by most to be the BEST all around Designed Tank of WW2. It was lighter, faster and easier to build than the Tiger Tank. Some of the design was taken from the T-34 (sloped sides) It had great frontal armour stronger than the Tiger BUT it was weaker in the side areas. About 6,000 were built from 1942 to 1945 when the WW2 ended. Our USA M-26 Pershing was built to counter the Panther V. The Tank was about 10 feet High by 12 feet wide and 24 feet Long or 30 feet including the full length of the Barrel. It had a top speed of 30 mph and a travel limit of around a 100 miles on a full tank of fuel. The Panther weighed 45 tons and had a crew of 5. this consisted of a Hull Machine gunner, Driver and Radio operator, Loader, Main Gunner and Commander. The Panther came in many Camo colors depending on where it was in Battle and also side skirts could be added for additional wheel track protection. I consider this build maybe my best tank even though it is not as detailed and is basically simple in design IT Is A Great Tank and one of my favorite of all time althought my Favorite is the TIGER. Even today if the truth were known the German Army LEOPARD Tank is the BEST in the World along with the Israeli Merka. Enjoy the build and let me hear your suggestion and comments. THX TT
In the bottom photo you will see the Famous Kubelwagen and the Open Cockpit Hummel armoured Tank. All of these vechicles were important German Military Items for WW2.Also in the bottom photo you may say Hello to Mitzi Nesselbaum of Munich standing on ther side of the Kubelwagen in her Battle ready BIKINI. Sweet! I like it, good all around design, kind of like the tank! LOL! Any way, I wish the turret armor was slanted at the corners, but I understand you had to choose in the trade off between the vertical slant of the armor, and the horizontal curve of the armor. Can I ask you reasoning for ruling out the Abrams as on of the best tanks? Thanks, =) |

Quoting James Rietveld
That's a good tank, although it doesn't look like a Panther. But it does looks like a WWII erea tank. Can you comment on my new tank? http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/198753
James, Remember there are 6 dirrerent desins on the Panther. In my photos i have posted a copy of the original Panther V and I think the L@@K mis NOT BAD!!!! PLZ L@@K again and if you still thinkm it does not look like a Panther give me some direct info to improve. As for commenting on yiour tank it this your original creation or did you copy a particular tank and if so may I see the original tank photo you were trying to build and then i can give an opinion. If this was your creation then my opinion is subjective as it should only matter to you what it looks like. THX TT |
