Here are some photos of the carriage/cage etc.

Wanting to continue on my -from the musicals- theme I've been doing lately, I got thinking about which musical to do next. I looked through my DVDs and spotted Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the shelf and suddenly this creepy little scene popped into my head. So, not a song, but a classic scene nonetheless.

The two sides are different not out of artistic creativity but for lack of parts...

Underneath the colourful exterior lies the hidden cage of the child catcher.

Nice! I like the way the cage is hidden underneath the decorations and the way the building is made! The building, especially the window, looks just like the ones in the movie. One question - how did you get the hat to stay on the guy's head? Did you use glue, or am I missing something? Once again, another great MOC from the lair of Leda! =D - AeroFighter

Great stuff. Loving the bandy-legged child catcher and the cage/ carriage. Haven't watched the film in ages, but saw this scene on a 'top 100 musicals' show recently. What? Can't straight men like musicals? It's all my wife's fault for making me watch The King & I..

I live CCBB (One of my all time favorite movies). Even better this scene was perfect to recreate. And the awesome part about it is that the movie/book was written by the author of James Bond!

Wow, never seen the movie myself (though it's always been in the back of my mind), but I think you did an excellent job as usual! So what's next? Marry Poppins chimney sweepers maybe? :P OK, now that I paid you a compliment get in that thing I like and meet me in Stacy's hotel.....The Phipson suite. It has restraints. ;)

First off, a very happy (belated) birthday dear! Now, this moc really got the desired effect it was going for. All I could think about was my daughter... creepy is an understatement. But if you REALLY want to creep us out, you could do something from the Sound of Music... on second thought, no... don't. HAHAHA ~ Chris.

Superb!! This has always been one of our favorite films, and this MOC is an incredible homage. Inspirational, too (I just thought how neat it would be to do the "Music Box/Puppet" scene from the Baron's B'day Party). We might put that on our list! Thanks, Leda, for a great build and a big smile. :)

Quoting Thoy Bradley Haha Leda this is awesome. I generally hated musical films as a child - even worse when they were more than 90mins long. But i do remember this scene and your MOC is an awesome representation of it :) Your mind and Lego have bought some good to me from this film - despite the creepy connotations :S LOL Good effort!
Thats good, pleased I could be of help. I grew up with musicals, I love them, me and my sister used to perform songs from them for our aunties and visitors... shame... looking back now I am embarassed, I don't think we were very good.

I've watched alot of classic movies, but this isn't one of them (not sure why). Anyway, this is another truly inspired moc from you! I love to see builds where you can actually tell that the builder was inspired. Definately brings back memories of some "not right" people in my hometown. No candy for me thanks! I'm diabetic. Oh, Happy B-day too:)

In my neighborhood, the child catcher gives rides to kids in little Trains, and he is dressed like a conductor. He seems to be a nice old man but... He is not. You know why? Because he doesn't give FREE rides! Hmm, well, back to the moc. Great job on the sides, and yes, I dislike it when I run out of parts. Happy belated birthday, by the way. Woah, I actually spelled out by the way. Creepy... ~Waff

I remember that scene all too well, and it still gives me the heebyjeebies! Everything you've built here looks like it was pulled right out of the movie! Now if only lego made minfigure heads with abnormally large noses, then this would be absolutely perfect :) Very well done!
