QX-8 Anopheles
...
About this creation

the QX-8 Anopheles is the Catharn Shipyards newest masterpiece fighter. Built for a political dissident group of Nnaetnalta, these fighters are some of the deadliest in existence. Armed with a single, super-powered beam laser cannon on the front, this fighter, though seemingly underarmed for the dark times of today, is supremely capable. The Laser is capable of shearing straight through shields and armor alike, making it a nearly perfect weapon. It is feared now as the epitome of "Alien Technology" throughout the sector.

the shape was created to become the epitome of what an "alien" fighter would come to be. Any pilot in their right mind should fear the approach of even one of these lethal weapons.

the long body is all basically a single conduit for the high powered shear laser. It gathers solar energy as well as using energy from its own, highly powerful reactor to create an ample supply of power, adding to lethality and maneuverability

the powerful thruster system. The two engines on the outside are able to be vectored, allowing for a supreme turn radius unmatched by almost any other fighter

the underside, where you can see some of the solar collectors (though most of the blue portions are solar collectors as well) as well as the shield emittors, power conduits, and microthrusters

most of the nose is dedicated to the shear laser cannon, and all of the systems necessary for it to be one of the most powerful weapons on a single starfighter (albeit the QX-8's only weapon)

another image of the side, with more machinery

the QX-8 Anopheles, out on a mission in deep space, ready to kick the a$$ of anyone who gets in its way

A few notes:
-Here is the fighter I promised you when I posted my "sands" vignette. I hope you like it.
-I spent about 5 hours working on this while I was studying for a physics exam
-Sorry for the crappy editing on some of the pictures, as usual
-and now, go eat a steak.

This has complex goodness all over! If I may ask, what type of tire did you use for the engines? I've seen the technique before, but I can't figure out the tire.

Hey, this is great! At a distance it looks just above average, but up close the desigh really stands out! I love how all of the hoses and pipes keep this feeling very advanced, and slightly organic.
