TIE / Geonosian fighter hybrid design.
About this creation
Introducing the Seinar Fleet Systems prototype TIE/Geonosian fighter hybrid, affectionately labelled "Pig's Snout" by the mechanics involved in its construction.

In the short time span between the Republic's demise and the birth of the Empire, a meeting of minds at Seinar headquarters on Coruscant worked together to design the next generation of starfighters. Emperor Palpatine, Darth Tyranus, soon-to-be-Vader Anakin Skywalker, and Raith Seinar pooled their mental energies and designs to come up with the future TIE fighter, TIE Advanced, and other weapons of war, including this one-of-a-kind ship. Dooku contributed the Geonosian's unique designs, and Palpatine added in the schematics for the now-missing Sith Infiltrator. Seinar himself designed the craft, and dark Anakin Skywalker volunteered as a test pilot for all prototypes. This ship was eventually deemed "ugly as a Dug", and scrapped in favor of the TIE ball cockpit and larger solar panel wings.

Admittedly, this isn't the greatest-looking of crafts. I mixed in equal parts TIE fighter and Geonosian ship designs, and just the thought of uber-mechanized craft melded with naturally curving Geonosian ships...it made me cringe at first. Then I started working on it, and it came together nicely.

Features an opening cockpit, opening rear engine compartment, and two laser cannons. Unlike the last two Hybrid Trilogy fighters, this ship lacks landing gear. Nothing I came up with worked with the curves of the ship, so I'll just say that this ship would shoot off a launcher aboard a larger capital ship.

Comments, criticism, and constructive advice are welcome and very much wanted! :)

One note: as of right now, this is the last of the Hybrid Trilogy Project fighters, because I'd like to focus on genuinely original ship designs.

See the MOCpages galleries of the previous two Hybrid Trilogy Project fighters: Naboo X-1 Starfighter and the Jedi Starfighter/Z-95 Headhunter hybrid.

I love it Ryan! Though I would suggest some more colors, different tints here and there. But as it is it's beautiful. I look foreward to more Hybrid fighters.
