TIE Hunter from Star Wars: Rebel Strike in Minifig-Scale.
About this creation
History
Following the battle of Hoth, the Empire began work on this experimental starfighter. A bit different from other craft in the TIE line, the TIE Hunter is fast, agile, and deadly.
The ship was developed as an answer to the infamous Alliance X-Wing, the craft that killed the Death Star, and as such it has heavy lasers, ion cannons, proton torpedoes, and even shields, a feature most TIES lack.
The ship also has some quirks taken directly from the T-65; most notably its wings can fold in two different positions, similar to an X-Wing!
Given all these amazing features (and AWESOME looks!), You'd think the TIE Hunter would have played a significant part in the Galactic Civil War. It did not.
Because of its advanced systems, Hunters were exhorbitantly priced. Only a select few Imperial squadrons contained TIE Hunters; mainly those associated with Crix Madine's Storm Commando Group, and most of them were dispersed following the battles of Dubrillion and Fondor. After Fondor was lost, the unique TIE was presumably decommisioned.
Kirk's LEGO® Incarnation
After returning home from my vacation in Virginia with my new TIE Interceptor official model, I decided to take on something nobody ever MOC's. After browsing Star Wars Wiki for a while, I found what I needed: a TIE Hunter! It was a quick mod of an official set, and I finished in about 20 minutes. I thought it turned out alright, so I decided to add it to my collection of LEGO® stuff for good.
The only things I really modified were the solar panels. I was lucky in that the Interceptor's wings are very similar, in size and in shape, so I added a black piece here and some blue there until I got it right. Edit: I added another picture, due to requests.

I'm sorry but it's just not a tie hunter. The tie hunter are having the wings going right out of their body, like the x wing, but ok |

Excellent job. Do the S-Foils on your TIE Hunter Close?
Yes, they do. At least, I think they did...

Good job bu i did notice that u used the same egzact pieces that are in the tie interceptor set. did u just modify it so it looked like that?
As I said in the post, this is a mod of the interceptor set, not a moc built from scratch. |
