One day I was sitting around with my nephew and he said, "why don't you build a dragon?", so I did. This mighty Red Dragon is scaled to how big the mythological beast might be compared to a standard Lego mini-fig (based loosely on Dungeons and Dragons stats).
About this creation
The head of my dragon featuring fearsome teeth and horns. The piercing eyes can entrance unfortunate victims.
My dragon is well trained and will sit on command. The neck, tail and all four legs are fully posable.
The wings of my dragon folded up against his back. I fully intend to add some kind of skin/membrane to the wings to give them actual shape. I was considering part of a garbage bag for light weight and flexibility.
The wings fully extended, the wings are very flexible and support their own weight.
The hands/feet of the dragon are also fully posable. the fingers are fully capable of grasping an object, like this unlucky villager.
The dragon chomps on his lunch. The mouth is also posable and can be opened wide to breathe his fiery destruction.

Oh my . . . I have often wondered if I was able to build dragons, and thus far I haven't seen success. But I have to say you have inspired me to try more!! |

Thank you very much. Alas he was not the first or last villager to fill the belly of the dragon.... :)

Thank you. I have been working on some home improvements recently so I haven't had much time in my Lego cave, but I hope to finish the dragon soon. Plus I have an improved black dragon project in the works too.

I love it! To be fare I'm a huge dragon fan but it does have the feel of a classic dragon, if you could add the skin part on the wings that would make it look even more fantastic!!!

Thank you for your comment. I hope to finish the wings one day, but other projects, and the real world, always see to get in the way.

Overall it's nice, and has potential; but I think it could certainly be improved to be 'great.' If you could make wings for it, that would be grand, but if not I'd suggest leaving them off completely. And as for the custom eyes... well it's a matter of opinion, but I'd like to see them made from unmodified bricks (as would many other people, I'm sure). Still it captures the essence of 'dragon' well, four stars out of five. |

This is pretty dang epic! The only thing it really needs are wings, and a spaded tail...other than that, I love the classic dragon feel. Nice job! |
