C.P.S Astaroth-class Destroyer "Heimoallr's Final Warning"
About this creation
The Astaroth-class destroyer, named after a demon in some U.N.E religions in order to inspire fear in their enemies, was primarily used in the Coalition's 66th Fleet, under the command of Fleet Lord Antanas Ásynjur. The fleet lord's personal flagship (this is the flagship model, just to be clear) differed from the average Astaroth in having an enlarged and more powerful Magnetic Accelator Proyectile Driver, more armament, a rudder like structure at the back and superior sensors. It was named "Heimoallr's Final Warning", often abreviated as either "The Heimoallr" or "The Final Warning", as a reference to mythology in the U.N.E, which the Fleet Lord had a large interest in, particulary Scandinavian. He was known for naming several operations and tactics after myths.

The "Heimollar's Final Warning" possesed immpressive sensors giving it an appearance similiar to a W-Ship, as well as immpresive fire power having several heavy cannons located near the back of the ship. The ship also had three command bridges, one mainly used to supervise troop and vehicle deployment, but did not have any significant role in controling the ship. The second one, often classified as an observation tower, was located on the rudder like structure on the back, this one had a more panoramic view than the main command bridge, but was also more vulnerable to enemy fire due to it's elevated position, it often served providing useful information for the main gun's crew. The main command bridge had a rather poor view of the battle field but was very well protected, the only way of directly hitting the glass is flying very low on The Heimoallr's hull, a suicidal and reckless tactic, it heavily depended on the information transmited from the observation tower, and the powerful radars.

That was a long story!

... and I bet half of you didn't even read it >_>

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship Side view, just don't aim for Awe's note.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship Forward view, never a good thing to see if you're an U.N.E soldier/commander/supporter etc.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship Butt shot, sexai right? Here you can see the 8 engines, these facilitate turning.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship
C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship The greebles on the front part of the ship, in Coalition style. Yeah... not as great as Jason Corlett's greebs, then again is anyone elses that good?

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship Forward heavy cannon, quite small compared to that monster of a cannon slightly below it...

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship No, I do not have overcompensation problems!

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship The ship's powerful sensors, heavily based of those on a W-Ship.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship The main bridge, smartly located in a relatively safe location.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship The heavy cannons, located below the heavier cannons.

Once again no to the overcompensation thing.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship The observation tower with some greebles.

C.O.P 66th Fleet Flagship I just HAD to include a ramp for tanks and stuff to come out, and you can see the lower bridge.

There are some more epic pictures on Flickr, if you really want to see them here you go.

Did you know that...
...Ian's Imperial Destroyer and Awe's Intervention and Hammer of Thyr were inspirations?
...Heimoallr is an alternate spelling for Heimdall?
...Heimdall is a god in Scandinavian mythology?
...several of the ships aspects were based on Heimdall's characteristics?
...the Fleet Lord's name is a reference to Antanas Mockus?
...Ásynjur is the plural femenine form of god in Scandinavian mythology?
...I only chose Astaroth as a name because it sounded cool and a bit edgy? (no diabolic intentions there)
...this MOC contains various personal references?
...those personal references aren't as deep as you might think?
...the name Advent of Chaos was considered, but was rejected due to not sounding very C.O.Pish?
...I plan to use that name sometime in the future?

Really nice, gotta love that shape. @Christian: Don't know you, but I love this kind of thing. It shows that the ship isn't eternal; shows it can be destroyed. "Realism" is the word. BTW, what the deuce means "CPS"?

Coalition of Planets Ship. In much the same manner as CPF means Coalition of Planets Fighter etc.

Nice details for the size, cnnons, ramp etc. but isn't the middle kind of a weak spot to break the ship into halfs?

With a color change it could easily pass as a Cylon gunship, even though one was never shown in the series, but who cares!

Quoting El Barto ! Nice MOC! I like the red eye on the bridge tower, sorta reminds me of a cylon, but that's just me.
Heh, everyone is saying that... it kind of does look BSG-esque. Maybe I'll try a BSG MOCsometime...

Very cool, and kudos for being the first person I've seen to use the term MAPD gun in a MOC.

Sorry I didn't comment on this earlier! I really like the overall design of this, and the fact that you had a story to go with it. My description would probably be: "This is a C.O.P. ship I made. I hope you like it" XD

Great work. The red bridge makes it look like something out of BSG. Check out some of my large EOS and Star Wars ships.

Very cool work Juan, all the details on this vessel are very awesome! Some of my favourites are the heavy cannons and the bording ramp. I think that the thin bit where the bridge joins the hull looks a bit too thin though.

Quoting John Moffatt We have Demons!?
Actually Asteroth is a demon from Judeo-Christianity beliefs, and as stated in the post I liked the name.

Quoting Ultramarine . OOoo! Shiny! Can't wait for the sister ships: Baal and Kankerworm. In all seriousness, though, awesome job!
You may have accidentaly inspired a ship series...

Cool ship, and I'm glad there's another person with a Fleet Lord character who doesn't have an Earth name for no apparent reason.
