Featuring Joe Vig! A slice out of an underground USOW base while under attack by the Eagles in Chapter 8 of G4M3: Shattered Reality.
About this creation
A LEGO creation based on my upcoming novel, G4M3: Shattered Reality. I've been writing the book since... well, probably 2003, and now it's finally on its way to being printed. You can see the website here: www.saber-scorpion.com/g4m3
This vignette is based on Chapter 8: "The First Boss."
The base is currently under attack by the Eagles, a group bent on fighting the USOW, who they blame for starting the war that destroyed the world of G4M3. Kyle has the opportunity to join either group, but he ends up siding with the Eagles.
This is Scott, a commander of the Eagles. Having just dispatched a USOW guard, he ducks behind cover to narrowly avoid a spray of bullets. The yellow cones are supposed to be the bullets hitting the wall behind him. I'm going for action-packed here...
Most of the Eagles permenantly mark their arms with the emblem of their group to show their dedication to the cause (they get an eagle tattoo). The USOW guard's shock stick was inspired by a weapon in a certain video game.
"Pick up the can."
"Now, put it in the trash can."
The Eagles aren't going to leave the base in one piece! Here an Eagles bomb expert sets up some heavy explosive charges in the room, prepared to blow the top off this underground bunker. I should have given him a decal that said: "I am a bomb technician. If you see me running, try to catch up."
For those of you unfamiliar with the LEGO vignette tradition, Joe Vig is a character often featured in LEGO vignettes. He is always found in a situation of mortal danger of which he is completely unaware. In this case, I think you can figure out what Joe Vig's predicament is.
The random Eagle guy and Scott. Eh, don't ask about the Dobby torso. I had already put a yellow arm on it for some reason so I just went ahead and used it. Apparently the guy couldn't get his hands on any decent armor.
this seems a little bit like unreal tournament (GOOD GAME!) same story kinda...
except unreal tournement isn't virtual reality. they both have tournaments to stop violence against civilions, they both have blood and gore and they both have some sort of government controlling it all.
so there ya go :)
Intersesting, G4M3 looks promising, I think that your RPG style of having rudimentary armour, and clans, relates to an online game of some sort, maybe SOCOM? great job with the decals, and has given me a lot of ideas for future MOCs, thanks!- Zach, Persident CEO, General, and Commander in cheif of the ZILC
A bit better than your last vig Scorp. I like the effects you used in this one, and I liked the new decals too. You got Kyle right with the more serious face by now, we can only wonder what'll happen to him at the end of the book and what happens to G4M3. (So go buy the book)
Very nice, I liked Joe Vig digging on the top. The rest of the vignette is good, like the way you used those slopes to make the angles, but I think you could have used more tiles, if just for the sake of the vignette tradition of having almost studless surfaces.
