About this creation







This is a full working Orerry with the Sun, Earth and the Moon.

This is a picture of the whole orerry. You can see some gears, the earth, the moon and the sun.

This is a detail of the main clasp.



The base of the orerry with the "LEOG Universe" bricks ;)



This is a detail of the 90 degree transition in the base.



On this picture you can see the main platform and gears. The green and dark gray gear is for the earth and the moon. The black and tan gear for the sun.



With this construction I built the sun away from the center. I looks nicer when it rotates ;)

Technical data:
1 rotation of the handle = 1 rotation of the earth
27 rotations of the earth = 1 rotation of the moon and 1 rotation of the sun
360 rotations of the earth = 1 rotation of the whole orerry

Very accurate - It must have taken ages to select the right gears for the correct ratios. I love the way it looks. This would make a great educational set!
