This is another scene from episode "Across the Sea" where it is revealed that The Man in Black was the one who built the frozen wheel in attempt to leave the island, after he has a conversation with his fake mother and tells her how he plans to build it, she knocks him out and burns his villiage thus angering The Man in Black and making him eventually kill her.
