King takes pawn...
More random doodling of mine... the whimsical chess board is just to compliment the two chess pieces... as I didn't have enough to make a full set... consider it improvisation... P.S. I tried not to over-light it this time... but IMO, you might need sunglasses...
About this creation

Fourth Wall Commentary:
I know, I know, this is sort of pitiful... but I thought I'd add something small for the pawn... As I don't have a lot of time to build these days, I was studying for a test when I saw the piece that is now the pawn's head, and thought that it would be perfect for a pawn... anyhow, I will have something "better" to post later this month... hopefully...

ALMOST VERY GOOD JUST THAT. WHY IS THE PAWN'S HEAD ROUND AND WHY IS THE CHESS BOARD LEVELED ENOUGH??

Quoting Matt David I don't know if you intended on such a big reception, but I still think this is probably the most underrated MOC this week--it's gotta be one of the best sculptures I've seen on the pages in a while.
It means a lot, thank you... :) But there are other builders that are far better than me that don't get the same amount of attention that I do, so I'm thankful for the comments I get ;) And I have to say that the reception that its been getting a way better than I anticipated...

Quoting Nannan Z. Nice and abstract. Only bug is that the king looks more like a queen. A cross on the crown would've been more obvious.
Thanks for the compliment, I am trying to figure out a "purist" way to make a cross but am stumped at the moment...

Great example of deconstructionalism (not sure it's the accurate translation, though).

Quoting Jason Dominguez Hey thanks for the heads up with the website. I'll be sure to try it. Do you play by any chance?
I used to, but got busy so I kind of stopped playing... though I'm not really that high ranked... I am only ~1100

Quoting Ian Paige i like the pieces and the board, but last i checked (no pun intended) kings cannot move like knights. if you had the resources, id be interested in seeing an entire set in this style
I claim artistic license :) But in all seriousness, I noticed that after I took the pictures, but figured I'd wait to see if anyone would notice. ;) And yes, I am interested in making a full set, however no promises... yet...

Quoting Andrew Somers So king takes pawn, and pawn gets pwnd? That's how I see it... Fabulous parts usage here, and if you don't mind my asking, How'd you make the pawn?
There's one of those screw drivers inside it, so that's how most of it is attached... the head of the pawn is really just sitting there, I'll post instructions with the next Weapons etc. later this week.

Quoting Jonathan Coyle Really cool! That pawn design takes the cake, but I would work on the king some more. I think the abstract board works well here!
I agree, I'm not entirely happy with the king, but that's what I could come up with, so I figure I'll work on it later... look for a v.2

nice chess pieces, maybe you should do a whole set. the board looks like it's dissolving, it gives the whole thing an abstract feeling, nice little moc.

Quoting Jason Dominguez This just made my day. I love chess, and I can't ever find anyone to play with. And the computer ALWAYS cheats. The pieces look utterly amazing, and the board actually reminds me of a book i looked through a long time ago. It didn't have anywords, but it had a part about a chessboard that looked like that. Great work here. Please make a full set.
I know, the computer is MEAN... chess.com is a good place to look for human competitors if you're interested in playing...

Leda is correct. This is really good. There is a great undertone to this with the board looking like a battlefield as the King advances. Quite good.
