About this creation

^My favorite pic, complete with engine glow, motion blur, and blaster cannon effects. After the tournament's over, this will probably become the main pic.
Well, we're now in Round 2 of Michael Qoyawayma's Star Wars LEGO Creations First Official Tournament? Dang, that's a mouthful. Anyways, the category was Vehicles, specifically any vehicle that hovered, walked, or rolled and was confined to the ground. I decided to go big with small: a UCS-scale STAP. The STAP (Single Trooper Aerial Platform) has got to be one of the funnest (don't use that word in English class) vehicles of the saga. (second to the AT-RT, of course) I found that at this scale, the STAP was much easier, but the 'fig was much harder without the benefit of specially molded parts. (little easter egg, the UCS Battle Droid uses 1 droid torso, 2 minifig hands, and 2 minifig arms) The STAP may look a little odd to you; those who have gotten used to the shape defined by LEGO's own minifig-scale version my think this one is too skinny. Skeptics, hop on over to Wookieepedia; the main pic for the STAP entry pretty much shows the accuracy of my model's proportions.

I know I'm forgetting to write something in this post, but I can't remember what it is....:-(
The UCS B1 should have a post of it's own, soon.

Couple of nice WIP pics for you, too.

Wow, that's something I never, ever would have thought of. What a creative idea doing it in large scale like that. Also, would you mind having a look at my most recent chapter of Empire of Darkness? Thanks- Rocky |

VERY nice! I'm glad to see other builders like you and Louis K working in this scale. It's definately one of my faves. I have some suggestions for improving the BD, but I'll wait till you post that separately. The STAP looks nicely detailed and accurate. As far as suggestions for future Miniland builds, I'd love to see a speeder bike/scout trooper, At-RT with rider, Tauntaun, BARC speeder, Dewback,uuuummmm... |

Amazing! This deserves to be posted on The Brothers-Brick, and I hope it gets Mot'd, too. I especially love all the effort you put into, and how the Battle Droid is perfect for fitting into the STAP. ~Ryan |

Wow, this is going to be way harder than I expected. Both models are great, I've always disliked Lego's official scales, either too big, or too small. However, all I can say is, awesome entry, good luck. |
