VC-430 'Fang' strike helicopter
Ah, helicopters. Always a popular subject. Particularly the big, nasty, predatory looking ones with all the weapons.
About this creation
Take your pick of these two, equally appropriate musical themes to listen to while looking:

You'd better give them, and the pictures, time to load. Quality has a quantity (of time) all its own, they say. Or was it the other way round?

Anyway: the VC-430 has always been a rather useful aircraft in the service of the Commonwealth.

It's been around for about eighteen years, and it's been deserving of its reputation for every one.

Well, okay, not the first two. But everything has teething troubles, right?

'Fang' copters are notoriously difficult to break; some of the first production run are still 70% original!

They're very adaptable; there's a huge variety of underwing weapon pods and internal systems available, ranging from extra fuel to torpedo racks.
(don't ask. Submarines were never meant to carry their own air support, the Air Arm said, but did the Surface Navy listen? NOOOooo...)

This particular sample appears to be attached to a Regular Army unit, going by the uniforms.

Why are they all in Salt-White? Well, infrared scanners are dirt cheap.
I mean, it's a thousand years in the future, give or take a few decades.

Yes, culture and language hasn't changed that much, (mostly because of Nostalgia. With a capital N. Once you blow up your first planet with thermonuclear explosives, you always feel that what you once had was special and try to relive it) and weapons technology is pretty much the same, just better, but sensors always advance. Infrared tech was already available to every Chinese peasant right up to the 2130s... (what's that, flunky? The Chinese blew themselves up in the late 2090s? Okay, Arabia then. What? They blew themselves up too? What happened to America? ...oh... Right. THAT war.) Well, I digress. Anyway, even before the megacorps, those things were common as anything.

Now that lot, they'd sell anything to anyone, especially if you didn't need it.

IR sensors were always popular, because when The Man(incorporated) comes for you with his invisible stealthsuits(TM), being able to see his body heat is really useful.

So, there's not much point in camouflage unless you're willing to go to great lengths to stay hidden. Certainly no point in painting copters.

At least when they're white, you can find them easily when they fail to dodge that last missile.

As for the groundpounders, just looking at their suits gives you a headache. As a rule, optical camouflage doesn't work well when you mass produce it, but when you just want to look... wrong... the cheap stuff does a great job.

"Central, this is Pallas. I can see them dang aliens again! And I'm sober this time!"

"Well, okay, I had a few nipsh for ther shkiesh, but not that many, honesh!"

From the front.

This one has a missile pod and one of them multi-calibre autocannon arrays.

Now those things can ruin a grunt's day. Particularly if he ain't so much of the better good with the athletics.

I'm quite happy with this thing. I find it looks very sleek, not much like a helicopter at all.

Why, it could almost pretend to be a jet...

See that orange thing? That's an infrared spotlight. Very useful. It's only a tiny part of the onboard sensor suite, though. This thingy has radar, thermal detection, countermeasures, ECM, ECCM, all the normal stuff you pack when you plan to go tank busting.

Look ma, landing gear!

Yes, it's tiny. It works, though. Landing is an adventure, but boy is this thing faster than the Free Suns equivelant. Building your kit for barely literate peasant lads tends to put a damper on such wonderful things as swapping ease-of-use for other advantages.

Copy it if y'want. Methinks credit would be nice, of course, as usual.

This could easily be scaled up, with larger wheels and a proper, enclosed bay. I don't have the parts for anything much larger than this, though.

...Speaking of jets, I thought a bit about making it one. Looks good, doesn't it?

Of course, the fact it wasn't made to be that stubby probably didn't help. It was landing gear, or jet. I picked landing gear.

As you prob'ly know, I've been developing a habit of posting important mocs on important dates; birthdays and anniversaries, mostly.

I'd say the first good aircraft I've made would be a pretty important moc, eh?

(No, Finn, the Commonwealth is not a new faction of mine. It's a contraction: Zenexabas Commonwealth => Commonwealth => Zencom with the Commonwealth being the Empire and associated minor states)

This is freakin' awesome! You are really good at helicopters, you should make more! Why do I get the feeling that I've said this all before?

The same comment! The snot finishing is excellent! Also the design, a compact and well armed helicopter. Excellent job.

I feel as if this MOC is underrated: the SNOT work is particularly impeccable and the landing gear is clever. If you end up revising it at all, I would say a tail rotor should be included, but overall, this pleases my eyes.

Quoting Ryan Durant Areesta, I was doing a random search and I found a page without any type of LEGO, but a page saying to join this so-called "Roblox." I have a feeling that it should be deleted. Ah, thanks. I'll include them in my daily "Non Lego Report" post. Just as a note, though, it's not that difficult to report them yourself, the Help group has a topic devoted to them: http://mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=2600&topicid=51109

Quoting Jason Dominguez Very nice attack chopper. Very sleek and excellent color combo. The only recommendation that I would make would be to modify the tail so that it has a visible rotor. Just my opinion.
Oh, right. Forgot to mention that. Those two holes in the tail are air vents; there's a fan in the tail boom, and basically put it does all the things you'd expect of a tail rotor.
