Lego Parts categories / Index table of content
Lego part names are very important for avid builders. I put together this table of content of the most common elements, at least the ones I know of. Full index http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/208447

Welcome to the group Space Pirate!! My Lego collection is a embarrassment compare to other builder. Brick for brick I think with all my creation on MOC is probably enough to build half of your Row of House. =) I actually take apart my prototype creation when I done to reused the brick for future creation. It'll be interesting to see other builder's Lego collection once more people join. =)
Quoting Space Pirate Thanks. I always considered to share my sorting system, but then...it's not really revolutionary, I might think about adding it, but not too soon. Also, it somehow looks like you want to show off how much Lego you've got ;) Anyway, I can see where this index might be quite convenient. My mother tongue is German, so I gave all my bricks a childish German name when I was younger. When I found out about the internet community and bricklink in 2008, I had to get used to English terms. Now I use English element names even when talking in German. ;)

I just came out of the "dark age" no more than a year ago. Only think I remember is childhood building skill & the name of 2 element; brick & plates.. hehe.. This page just serve as a starting point for anyone who is starting learn the categories of Lego.. Yes, I should add "categories" to my page title, even now I am still learning as I go along. Please join my Sorting group & share how you organize your collection.
Quoting Space Pirate This is not really an index of the most common elements, rather of the most common categories. Without knowing which element belongs to which category, it is rather useless though, I'd say. I would encourage anyone to browse through the different categories on bricklink, to get a hang of which part belongs where and what elements actually exist. You might want to use your list for sorting then, but without knowing the individual elements, it can get quite confusing. I mean, what is an aircraft element? What's the difference between windscreen and cokkpit? Nice job with the photo editing though ;)
