My entry for the Bayonets at Dawn contest at Classic-Pirates.com. My MOC shows the charge of the British under Cumberland on the French positions.

About this creation

This is my Bayonets at Dawn entry.
Initially I didn't plan to enter, but when I realised the amount of soldier minifigs I have, I just had to...
Since I made this decision on Saturday, my entry came together in quite a rush, it's also the first time I attempted something landbased.

To the battle:

The Battle of Fontenoy of 11 May 1745 was a French victory over the Anglo-Dutch-Hanoverian "Pragmatic Army" in the War of Austrian Succession. It was fought near Fontenoy in the Austrian Netherlands in present day Belgium.
Under the command of Marshal Maurice de Saxe (who was of German origin) the French force fortified on a slight rise in a strong position designed to compensate for the somewhat lesser quality of his infantry compared to the British foot.
The victory allowed the French to successfully complete their siege of Tournai and capture numerous other Flemish towns throughout the rest of 1745.

I didn't use any decals (I don't like stickers), but custom Flags and cannon smoke.

Very cool creation 5/5 I love the blocks of soldiers and all the details. The only thing I would point out, is that the British redcoats first got Shakos in the beginning of the 19th century.
