I'll take the time now to explain the following four pictures. They are devoid of characters, yet they have dialog for a reason. The dialog used for each scene is what was said in that scene several hours prior to the time the scene was photographed. In movies, these empty scenes can be shot and the the dialog played over, creating the effect of passed time. I have tried to use that effect here as well.
The Bar: 1:24 AM
Man: "Sheeya laterr, Sham, I gotta get home, HIC"
Bartender: "Should I call you a cab? You shouldn't be out driving in your condition."
Man: "HIC, no I'm fine, can't juss leave my car here!"
Bartender: "You really shouldn't be driving like this!"
Man: "Well I'm way too drunk to walk!"
On the road: 2:16 AM
Man: "Haha, the rail makesh shparksh when the car rubsh it."
"Wait, why ish that tree gettin closher and closher?"
The morning: 7:01 AM
Lady's voice: Officer Phipson? We have reports of an automobile crash on Rosewood Road about four miles east of the intersection with county road 6.
Officer Phipson: I'm on my way.
Phipson: "Well, this is definitely the place."
Phipson: "Poor guy, looks like he got ejected through the windshield."
Phipson: "Looks like alcohol must have been involved."
Phipson: "He must've gotten thrown up into the tree he hit and fallen out, his hat is still up there. Why does that hat look so familiar?"
Phipson: "Poor guy, I guess I'd better turn him over and call an ambulence."
Phipson: "No, oh god NO!"
Phipson: "WHY! OH DEAR GOD WHY!"
Three things that should never go together: People, alcohol, and automobiles.
Fourth Wall Commentary:
First off, no disrespect to Kelso. I only used him as the victim for effect, I am in no way implying that Kelso might drive drunk.
And now, some behind-the-scenes shots.
A lot of work went into this city scene, and it only got two low-angle shots. So I thought I might show an overview pic of this dio.
Here's a couple more pics of the wrecked car.
Here is the highway dio on its own, I'm most proud of this part of the build.
Looking down the highway.
The tree. My best tree yet.
Here is a shot of the car, in one piece, driving down the road like its supposed to.
And here is the bar scene, used in one picture.
And I also got to try my hand at a mosaic for the city backdrop, it came out much better than expected. I'm quite pleased with it.
And I leve you with these solemn words. Never, ever, drink and drive.
Wow that is really well done. Great take on the subject as well. Love the message as well. The city in the night was absolutely gorgeous! Best of luck for this winning entry! (namely because no one else will add anything)
Good message. Nice shots and scenes. Poor Phipson, finding his best pal. It's like one of those highway safety films we used to see in school. I like the city scape quite a bit. Tell those kids to stay in school too. see ya. garth
Good treatment of a serious subject. The results turned out quite well. That black road turned out nice - I was just thinking about doing that a week or so ago. You should have no problem getting a decent score from me.
