The Tenebrion, Alpha Class X3-700 Star Cruiser, 3rd Wyvern Galaxy Coalition. A massive military vessel, The Tenebrion is one of many Alpha Class ships, all built to head fleet detachments throughout the known galaxies. She is equipped with countless guns, the main cannon (a TIRB cannon--Twin Ionized Repulsive Blasters) found on the bottom hull, just aft of the bow. She has port and starboard flight hatches (six on each side), each door releasing a squadron of fighters at any one time (four squadrons are also held in reserve). On the hull bottom are five more hatches, suitable for releasing ships, such as bombers, small transports, or any other sort of small craft. Aft of amidships and just before the stern thrusters begin is the Perimetric-Operative Hyperdrive Ring (POHR). This ring gives the ship faster-than-light speed capabilities as well as hyperspace jumping. The perimetric-operative function refers to the ring's ability to create a forcefield that can pull other, smaller ships in with it for jumps or faster-than-light speeds. The Alpha Class ship is therefore the backbone of its fleet. Part battleship, part aircraft carrier, part mass transportational device, ships like The Tenebrion keeps the interstellar space under the 3rd Wyvern Galaxy Coaltion safe. See my Brickshelf gallery here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=430548 (And in case you were wondering, the name comes from Tenebrionidae, a family of black beetles.)

Quoting Yuri Fassio Wonderful spacecraft, amazing editing. I'm also checking your nano-fleets, they're fantastic!
Thank you! This is my second entrance into space (and the microscale fleets were my first). Glad you like them! They were a blast to build.

Quoting Dave Kaleta Nice work, love those flight hatches opening. I'm not the best at photography, but I've heard (I believe from Lee Jones) that it's best to photograph a black model against a black background. Your photographs turned out really well though; I love all the greebling.
I'm not a photography expert either. Perhaps I should try it that way next time? Thanks for the input (and believe me, was that greebling fun!).

Quoting El Barto ! Dark and Deadly! Nice work on that Hyperdrive Ring in the first picture. Bet that wasn't easy.
Thank you! I have to admit, I was pretty proud of this one. The photoshopped ring was truly a pain, and it took much more time than the thrusters (which turned out just how I wanted them to look). I'm poor with computers so it's really all due to my techie sister...she guided my every click using her software. We first tried to use real photos of lightning bolts, then we tried our own (which is what you see). I struggled with the correct color and the aural "fog" look. I really was painfully picky--I had a certain image in my head. The finished product, thank God, isn't too far from my desires. Thanks for taking a look, I really appreciate the input from a seasoned space builder!
