Tablescraps 1(Includes FIRST 2010 World Championships Pictures)
Now before you start looking at all the many pictures below this line let me take a minute to explain what Tablescraps is. Tablescraps is my way of sharing MOCs and photography that isn't good enough by itself to be in a MOC of it's own. So every couple of months I take all of my tablescrap MOCs and pictures and put them in one HUGE post called Tablescraps. *Just one other note, this edition of Tablescraps includes pictures of the FIRST 2010 Championships and some of the MOCs displayed there. If you arn't interested in those pictures then just skip to the end where you can see my table scrap MOCs.
About this creation
So lets start out my first Tablescrap with some photography. I was experimenting with Bionicle heads by lighting their eyes up with a funky book light I got for Christmas.

This one is my favorite. The first one was my second favorite but I didn't really like how the rest turned out. I will keep experimenting with the technique.

I hope that this summer I will start a Brickfilm series that I have kept in the back of my head for a long time now. Most brickfilms star a dynamic duo but mine is a dynamic trio! The center minifig is my sigfig and in the films is called Steve. The guy to his left is Joe and the guy to his right is Bob. One thing I don't get is why my camera is focused on Bob. My camera is focused on Steve!!!

This is my latest custom clone. I acidently dropped the camera while taking the picture of him but I was to lazy to take another one. O.k. I'M KIDDING!!! I don't really make custom clones. The custom clone debate is starting to heat up again so I'm going to state my opinion right here. I don't like the poor photography and sharpe scribbled clones but I am not completely against customizing minifigs. I think that these clone fans should take more time to make well thought out customs. Also, a custom on it's own usually dosn't make a good Moc by itself. If I made a custom clone I would either feature it in a larger MOC or include it in Tablescraps. Basically what I am trying to say is that you should put more thought in you minifig and photography. Check out these builders to see what I mean. Now if you are just too young to make good customs or take good pictures post your stuff on Lego.com, not Mocpages. Maybe you clone customizers should start your own website because when people log on mocpages most of us want those people to see good, well thought out Lego creations, not a blurry clone scribbled with sharpie.

Well now that's over with back to the pictures. I took these back in Febuary when a miricle occurer: IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Naturally, I had to take pictures of my new Talz and Anakin minigs in it. I didn't have the time to take the pictures of the minigis building snowmen and having a snowball fight like I had hoped but maybe you guys will enjoy these.

Now the next following pictures are of the FIRST 2009-2010 world championships. If you already know what FIRST is go ahead and skip down to the pictures. For those of you who don't know what FIRST is, it is a robotics competetion where every year a new game is invented and teams have 6 weeks to build a robot that can play that game. There are three different age secctions FRC(First Robotics Competition), FTC(First Tech Challenge), and FLL( First Lego League). First Lego League is for elementry school kids while the other two are for highschoolers. FLL teams use the Lego Mindstorms to build their robots and thanks to FLL the competitions attract a lot of Lego builders. I was on both an FTC team and an FRC team so I got many good pictures of the event but I will try to keep my pictures Lego related.

Here is one of the main attractions of the Lego tables. The Buzz and Woody model!

Here is Buzz by himself looking heroic.

Here is Woddy by himself.

Here is Buzz's head. If you look closely you can see the detail on his chin. I didn't notice that until after I took the picture.

Here is Woody's head. I enspecially like how his head was shaped.

Here is one of my favorite models at the Mindstorms table, the Wall-E model.

This is a cool Mindstorms draggster. I havn't been able to find out who made this model yet so if any of you know make sure to tell me!

These are some Lego earrings that were on the Mindstorms table. I noticed that they were gone by the next day so I am wondering if they were given out for free. I don't have my ears peirced but I sure could have used some free Bionicle claws.

This little guy was in the middle of a large Lego tub where kids could make Lego models and displey them on special shelves.

This parrot was also on the palm tree.

And here's a Storm Trooper that was patroling the FTC pits. I'm sorry, I said I was going to keep my pictures Lego related but I couldn't resist.

Here is the Brickworld table!!!

Someone on the Brickworld staff is a spider-man fan. Things like this were all over the city.

This drive in movie was really cool. I wish I could have gotten a clearer picture but It's impossible to get a tack-sharp picture when people keep bumping into you.

This was my favorite model: The Georgia Dome. When I first saw the Georgia Dome I thought that it would make a good Lego model. Apparently someone beat me to building it. Next year the competition is being held in St. Lewis so maybe the same guy will make a Lego St. Lewis Arch. That would be cool.

This Kroger was a nice touch too!

Now we are at Fazoom's table. He has some cool Sci-Fi MOCs. I tried to convince him to join MOCpages but he seems content with Flickr.

I found these two autobots chilling in the "Too Be Displayed" area.

I thought that I saw these featured on the Brothers Brick the day before I left but I didn't see them on Fazoom's flickr...

I remember seeing this one on the Brother's Brick for sure! It was cool being able to see it in person.

This ninja themed model was the many people's favorite. I am not sure who build it or the Cinderella below.

A rockem-sockem robot!!! Sorry for another non-Lego picture but I couldn't resist.

In honor of the FIRST competetion I built a lego Dean Kamen. Dean Kamen was the founder of FIRST. This model features him with his most popular invention, the segway, and his latest invention, a prosthetic arm.

As you see in this picture the model can be worn as a necklace. I would have worn it at the competition but there are certain people on my team who would have loved to smash it.

My netbook got a makeover thank's to the free Mindstorms stickers!!!

Well that ends the FIRST pictures.

This is my chrome stormtrooper I got at Toys R Us. I got the last one! I felt kind of happy that I was buying Lego because the person in front of me was returning a Mega Bloks set because it was missing pieces.

As you see I havn't opened it yet and I don't plan to until I make a special display case for it.

Now lets move on to some real MOCs. This is a turrent for a clone trooper I call The Beast. The Beast is mostly ment to be part of a larger MOC like a Dio or a building but I havn't been able to build any of those yet.

This is a small hardsuit I made for the new Power Miners.

Here is my favorite Tablescrap MOC, a bird. When I first saw the tooth peices I thought they looked like half of a bird's beak. I proceeded to make a head for the bird and like I do in most MOCs like this I had a good head but didn't know how to make the body. It took a long time before I came up with the perfect body but I finally did.

I hope you all enjoyed this first edition of Tablescraps. Most editions of Tablescraps won't be as long as this one was because of the FIRST pictures. Anyway, if you have and questions, comments, advice please comment. Thankyou
