A small long range fighter.
About this creation
This is my R-Wing built for the R-Wing contest at FBTB. While I'm not a huge fan of backstories for Spaceships, the contest requires one, so here it is:

The R-Wing is a New Republic fighter. It was designed to be an long range fighter with unmatched speed, to replace the aging A-Wing. To fulfill this assignment, the R-Wing was designed as essentially a large fuel tank, with a small side cockpit and engine area attatched. It is armed with 5 small lasers in 2 sets of turrets and 1 forward pointing laser. Unlike the A-Wing, the R-Wing is equipped with an astromech droid for additional flight control. Thrust is provided by 3 Radien 400 engines and 1 Radien 700. The particular ship picture here is a member of Green Squadron.

A fantastic piece of work. I'm not fond of the plate bottoms on the belly, but that is really searching for something to nit at. Well done, Chris.

Nice. I am planning on making something called a T-wing someday. Turn a T upside down and what do you get? That's why I'm building one.
