For the past two months Tyler (Legohaulic) and I have been working on a collaboration project for Brickworld. We wanted to present our distinguishable styles in a cohesive sci-fi diorama. At the same time, we strove for the unprecedented by incorporating lights, motion, and even music (through built-in iPod speakers) on top of a dark tan and sand green color scheme. We are proud to present Containment.
Our creation depicts a one man operated biosphere processing facility towering over an alien wasteland. The two worlds are separated, but one question can be asked for both: which one is contained? While it seems apparent that the primitive aliens are kept out of the advanced and sterile facility, another look reveals the absolute isolation of the operator. Our teasers introduce the backstory for the creation.
Nannan, you have ought to be the best lego builder EVER. This is absolutly amazing. i especially like the crashed spaceship, and the junk conveyor belt. Really, this is amazing. how much time did this take? WOW.
You met with my dad and talked about this forever! It was by far our favorite creation at Lego Kidfest Chicago! I'm looking at a photo my dad took of it right now!
:- 0 This is possibly the greatest MOC I have evar seen. You exceed the creative levels of the Lego corporation itself BY OVER NINE THOUSAND! I will now begin to try and Forge this in Reach. See yah in 7 months.
this is so so so so unbelivable this is the best thing I have ever seen on MOC pages this is the coolest thing ever you realy pay attention to details if i traded in my lego collection for the pieces i could only still build half are you sure your not in the lego company. its people like you that inspire people to keep building you are the best that is worthy of the title of "best lego creation ever" that is so cool i cant say enough to tell you that this is awsome.!!!!!
After I stuff my heart back down my throat into my upper left chest area, I will say that one wonders how Kelso's Invisible Hand is so popular when a better creation has been practically left untouched. I love the zamor sphere marble run thing, the lift, and the monorail. All those features each deserve a 25/5, while the rest of the "Containment" diorama gets a 50/5. Way cool! Mr. Kenney, you should make a rating called "Amazing" that has 10 smileys, and counts for two "Like it's".
I don't know who you are, but whoever you are you must be ver-etdgfbvJ'O/HFSAGFKJFJKfytfmhf..... WE ARE SORRY TO SAY THAT NATHAN INGERSON, HAS JUST SUFFERED A HEART ATTACK AND PASSED AWAY, BUT WE ARE PLEASED TO ANOUNCE THAT THIS IS THE BEST MOC ON THIS WEBSITE.
Very good color scheme, lots of details, but how did you put up the ball tower(corner tower of facility) and interlock the plates together? I'm puzzled...
I feel privileged to have seen this in person at Brickworld 2010. No matter how great the photos (and video!), they can't fully communicate the whole experience of creative design, awesome details, amazing movement, great music, and fun lighting effects. I thought last year's display was great, but this one was light years better. This was truly one of the showstoppers at Brickworld!
THE best lego creation I have ever seen, not ONE of the best, but the best. I had the pleasure of seeing it live at Brickworld, and you and Tyler did a fantastic job! Even my Dad had to admit is was the greatest Lego creation he had ever seen. Is it at all possible to now build the ship crashed into the ground?
I saw this at brickworld it was the first one I saw!!!!! Me and my friends loved it! I didn't realize that the music was coming from the model though until I read this! It's AWESOME!
Absolutely fantastic. The amount of moving parts you integrated, while retaining such an astounding level of detail, is amazing. I really wish I could have seen this in person!

Thanks for the comments, I enjoyed reading them all. Brickworld was fun and I'm glad some of you got to see it in person. There's a lot of questions asked, and instead of sorting through them all, I'll answer them via email. You can find my email address on my homepage. Thanks!

For the first time, I am speechless. Words can't even describe the awesomeness of this.
DUDE! YOU GOT THIS ON i09! Holy crap. Sorry I can't link to it, but it's there! If you don't know, i09 is a sister site to Kotaku, and both dabble in the matters of populars things like video games, but i09 is focused of more futuristic things. Quite an achievement getting this on there.
it is hard to believe that human beings are capable of creating such things, it is ... I find no words for it ...
... besides, I wonder how much money went into this, especially for the whole green stuff ... are you people working for LEGO or what is the magic key?
I would rate this 10 out of 5 ...
This is to good to describe in words. The amazing amount of photos and the sweet designs and ideas used are baffling. The idea of the green balls going round and round is ingenious as is the conveyor belt. Its so massive that...its freaky to know thats its made of Lego. Awesome work.
This is extremely impressive. I've seen many machinery incorporated Lego creations and this is by far the best one I've seen yet. And I've been browsing these pages for years. Also, I LOVE the green color scheme in the MOC. 5/5 Most definitely! ~Stay green my friends
Splendid, I had to click and open almost every picture to actually enjoy it, but that’s a good thing. Perhaps a cover for the iPod could be made. (The iPod is distracting me) The ship imbedded in the sand is great, good use of parts overall too.
Crazy awesome insanityness!!! (aka pure awesomeness)

twitch twitch... twitch twitch... twitch twitch... twitch twitch..... words cannot begin to describe this..... it is so beautiful..... 100000/5..... WHERE THE DID YOU GET ALL THOSE PARTS!!!!!
This is beyond epic. I LOVE it. Beyond its overall amazingness...I don't even know! :-D I think my favorite part is the studless slope pieces in trans. dark green for slime or liquid or whatever. Amazing! This is why you were one of the first "favorite builders" I added....
Spencer
Brilliant, the combination of sand green and dark tan in such great amounts intrigues me, it's something I never saw before, I clicked every picture to ensure myself it are known pieces used, remarkable, the moving parts and such is a nice extra, fantastic job !
I'm really impressed overall. You did a great job at presenting this outstanding creation and you really made it look realistic! The added attributes really gives you extra points. Fantastic job!!!!
Yeah, you guys pretty much rock. Like everybody else already said.

This union was bound to be epic and it's certainly delivered. I wish I could see it in person, but then again you don't really want my drool all over it. Fantastic job guys.
I saw this this morning and I thought I was still dreaming, but now it's evening and it's still friggin' here!!! * eyes roll* With the both of you size really matters! Incredible building skillzz, a creative setting, an amazing layout, do I need to go on? This is gonna oblitirate every entry for the MOCies next year...
ooh this is definitly the best creation I have EVER seen. On a scale of 1-100, its awesomness is around 10,000,000,000. Are those green parts with the curve and technic hole from LEGO Soccer?

So...many...details...not...enough...space to...comment!
Nah jk, simply stunning build! All the motion and lights (and music) really gives it alot of soul and atmosphere! The massive amount of detail is unbelievable, a remarkable joint creation, great work you guys!
Muy impressionante. Well, what more can I say? Love the concept, love the colour scheme, love the moving parts and lights. Best thing I've seen in months, at least.
exellent work credit to you both. many thanks for all the pics, as I won't get to see this in person, and could you tell me if the ship wreck was based on 'the planet of the apes'.

This is truly inspiring. The level of detail is unheard of! And to add lights, music, and movement to it just makes it that much cooler. Now I'll definately have to work harder on my post-apoc comics. I also really like how you built around the iPod speakers and incorperated the Pick-a-Brick cups into the design :P

This is the sort of once-in-a-year MOC that inspires me to build when life inspires me not to. Pardon the cheesiness of my comment but I mean that to be genuine.
Amazing! So much detail! I love the convator(*spelling) belt with the trash on it! It looks like the trash is going into the garbage pile but it's really not... Trippin'

Every once in a while a creation comes around that no combination of words can adequately 'review'. Some say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case I think nearly every brick is worth a thousand words. I'll leave it at that.
On a side note, this looks like something you'd see in Red Faction: Guerrilla.
Love it, Peace ~ Packie
Ditto Juan. This is LEGO, right? Cuz I have not seen anything like it in my entire life. Not from anyone else. I would have voted for this in Mocie awards. Big time. Just one ten by ten studded area on that diorama has enough detail to be a moc by itself. ~Waff
Wow! You've created so much of the detailed stuff that I went dizzy of the beautifulness of all of it. It's so well built that even my eyes start to hurt and the most strange about me is that I like the hurt in my eyes! Excellent!
Wow... just... wow. I know I'm going to be spending a LOT of time checking this out when it's all set up on Friday! BRICKWORLD IS HERE! See ya tomorrow Nannan! ~ Chris.
Whoa...amazing...and the colors are really yummy...and the crashed ship...and all the other things...i only wish i could see it all IRL. This kind of stuff makes an old scifi-AFOLs heart go all warm and the eyes water. But maybe that's just from squinting too hard, trying to see all the details ;)
Well if you got the time and money all I can say is build build build. Incredible work you have here, it makes my current vignette look basic compared to yours but then again I'm comparing someone with more experience than me. Keep up the good work.
The extreme attention to detail is overwhelming to the measly mind. Ingenious use of pick-a-brick containers as well as MOC concept. The ship wreckage is brilliant. Kudos to the nnenn sculpture. Simply amazing!
