Brickworld 2010 Pt. 4 "The End"
All good things must. The final chapter of the Brickworld 2010 excitement.
About this creation

Dennis and his Donkey Strap. He's trying to bring back the greatest show on earth.

Everyone guarding Lee's army.

As is the Phipson way, Brickworld ends with everyone smashing his builds into his bucket. Funny thing is that if he ever sorts it, he may find some interesting stuff at the bottom. LMAO

One final shot of the majority of the gang.

Well it was definitely fun. I have the Bon Jovi song "Never Say Goodbye" stuck in my head, and I think it's as fitting a tribute as any. The major cons we had surrounding the show actually had nothing to do with the show itself. Just minor hiccups and rookie mistakes that we plan on correcting next year. Amber is game for another go (as long as we don't drive 26hrs straight ever again LMAO), and I already have the design for next year's light and sound build in my head.

I even had Arthur G stop by and check out my courthouse (he was shocked I'm going to tear it down, and now I'm rethinking that move LOL) and the infamous Goldman said he really dug my microcity.

Dennis and family, you guys were great to be around. Dennis you always are laughing, even when you're being grumpy. It was a great pleasure meeting you and your family this year.

Anthony Dunne, you are a great guy! I wish we coulda sat down and chatted a bit more. I apologize I was always on the go, and hopefully will make up for it in the near future.

Dave and Johnny you guys are superb builders with such a positive attitude. You guys are great to be around and we look forward to hanging out with you guys again!

Lee and family, I don't know how you keep it all together man but you have a beautiful family with patience and hearts of gold. Keep 'em safe! And tell your wife I expect to see her army next year!

Mr. Kelso, you are an exceptional builder with unparalleled skill! The things you do with bricks make me extremely jealous! I hope to tap into some of that buried inside of myself and I hope to continue learning from you.

Chip Philson is the man. Just letting us smash your stuff was the frosting on the cake my friend. Your an inspiration to us all, as you keep the community together like no other.

George Kemper, you are an outstanding young man. I really enjoyed collaborating with you on the Matrix build and look forward to the upcoming year when we will once again form like Voltron to kick some butt!

Dave and Stacy....You guys are crazy! What an amazing team of builders! You can tell that you guys have your hearts and souls into this hobby....but not only the hobby itself but to the people who come to enjoy it with you. It was indeed a pleasure to finally meet you guys and stand in awe at the Sterling resolve.

Dave Kaleta....didn't know too much about you before meeting you, other than in passing online. You are such a skilled builder with superb attention to detail, it blew my mind! Amber and I both enjoyed talking to you and thought you definitely deserved that award! I will definitely be watching you to pick up on your skill set as well.

Heather....sorry we didn't get to talk much, but I hope that in the future we can.

I hope I didn't miss anyone, but it was truly an excellent time. We definitely plan on attending again, as long as financials fall into place. I apologize that Amber and I tried to stuff too many tourist things in at the same time, but hopefully next year we will be stuck to you guys like glue.....and then what will you do?!?! Until next year friends.....we'll keep it online! ;)

Quoting Ethan M. Destroying all those builds looks like a bit too much fun! Is Brickworld always in Chicago?
I believe they have another one ummmm in Indiana?? I think it's called BW Indy. I could barely afford this one, so doubt I will go to any other big conventions over 200 miles away anytime soon. LOL

Quoting Dave Kaleta Dude, everything I've learned has been through this community and watching people like you in the MOCathalon. If I didn't say so already, I'm a huge fan of your work and I always love to check in on your creations. BTW, that courthouse was really quite nice.
Thank you very much for the kind words brother! I'm a HUGE fan of yours as well, and getting to know you better at BW was a pleasure for both Amber and I. Looking forward to hanging out with you again in 358 days. :P

Quoting brickbrain . I REALY DONT UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE BREAKS THEIR BUILDS THAT TOOK SO LONG TO MAKE... KINDA THICK
They gotta go eventually.....and Mr. Phipson likes to start fresh after BW. I think it's great, and I'm currently tearing down 90% of my builds and doing a huge resorting of my own.

In ways you don't even want to imagine. There's video of it somewhere. We'll see what we can do about finding it for ya. Heath, great coverage! Gonna try and post mine in the next day or so here. It was awesome meeting you and Amber, you guys rock! Only next year... lay off the touristy stuff would ya? HAHAHA ~ Chris.

Ahhh...I'm still sad it's over already! It was great to meet you and Amber and spend some time admiring your MOCs. A huge thanks to both of you for your help during the room set-up (and all the others who dropped what they were doing to help). Can't wait for next year! ~Stacy

Outstanding coverage, Heath! You now know first hand how we all differ from our on line personas. What strikes me most about not only the MOCpages crew, but the BW builders in general, is simply what great people they all are - fun loving, kind, and generous, with an absolute passion for this hobby and others who share it. So glad you were able to be a part of it this year. And while it's one heck of a haul for you guys, we'd love to see ya again!!!

You know...if I had been there to see the destruction of Phipson's display...I would have said to everyone; "you can only kill bad weeds by their roots" as I threw Phipson himself in the trash can instead. Great coverage, Heath! -Dylan

John and I want to thank you for your kind words and support, and of course, in helping the rest of us keep Chris and Mark honest (just kidding Guys...who Loves you??). After the way you fit so perfectly into the scheme of things over the past year, it wouldn't have been the same without you. We've always been just "slightly outside" the Gang compared to most, but we think Dave Kaleta and yourself are marvelous additions to the "MOCpages Elite"...too bad Sean wasn't with us again this year...you Guys would have dug it! Thanks again, and all our best wishes for You, Amber, and the Kids...D&J

Quoting: Bartosz k June 22, 2010 "why does chris phipson (and you guys) destroy his awesome creations after Brickworld 2010?" I'll handle this one. He's not trying to break his bricks or anything, but having his creations in pieces before leaving the hall he has a fresh slate and plenty of bricks to work with. Chris really likes to bring all new stuff to Brickworld each year (and if he could go to two shows a year, he'd have new builds for each). Although I tear my stuff down gently, I do the same thing. Now on to this post. Thanks for the kind words, Heath -- both you and Amber are fine people and don't be surprised if you don't get hooked into another project for next year.

Great ending and coverage! It's much appreciated by the deprived minions who couldn't attend such an event. Someday will always be in our hopes (or at least my hope).
