In which watching Doctor Who would've made too much noise, so off to the LEGO I went.
About this creation
Howdy.
This won't be much, but if you've got nothing else to do, have a sit-down and take a listen.
I wanted to make a skull illusion. It'd been on my mind for a while, but I never really had to incentive or any idea how I'd do it. But then I thought about it for more than two seconds, and came up with a Classic-Spaceman-Odyssey-of-Flight-33-Twilight-Zone kind of concept. I got to work.
First, perspective. The illusion would only work from one POV, so I set up a little viewpoint:

Next, the shape of the skull: a circular doorway.

Give it a background...

...flesh it out a bit...

...add some stairs...

...then the first minifig. Give him black hair, because he'll be the first eye socket.

Now the second minifig for the other eye socket. Can't have them both turned around, so the second dude will have to be black to provide the necessary contrast. I used one of only two black minifig heads I own; my head collection is so very racist. I blame the LEGO group.

Put a black gun in the guy's hand to form the skull's nose hole. Technical term.

Add some more light, take a picture or two, and you're done:

Ta-da!
Thank you for joining me tonight, and have a lovely evening.

That is very cool. Well done. Hmmm, when I mess with Lego at midnight, I wake everyone up. They are loud little buggers! |

Now, make that round doorway bigger, add a lightning bolt through it and splash it with some colorful flowers...BAM! It's a Grateful Dead album cover! After all, isn't it a 'Space' jam? Beautifully conceived.~H |

I've been considering making something like this since reading the Sad Tale of the Brothers Grossbart. It's such a cool effect! |

I like how you can take a few bricks and arrange them in a way that the camera doesn't see the rough edges and only sees what you want them to see. Great Effect. |

Too be honest, the second to last picture looks the most like a skull illusion. The last picture is just too subtle. Although maybe thats what you were going for. |

Dude, you're like Sean Connery in The Untouchables, "Here endeth the lesson." Awesome. |
