The TX5-Erion, a class five hover racer.
About this creation
Well, after a small 'dark age' so to speak, the inspiration finally came to finish this, which was just sitting around for months. So I present you with the "Erion", a class five hover racer.
It was the cockpit section in the middle that gave me much grief. One day I was playing around with various pieces - as you do - and found a pair of train doors in my hands. Presto! Put them together like so, and I made the breakthrough from 2D to 3D, so to speak... :)
I had the idea to use those underwater plants as 'turkey feathers' for the engines. The effect, when combined with inside-out tires is quite realistic.
The overall look I was trying to go for was a realistic one, so I added a few grebbles here and there, while trying to keep a smooth look.
The red and white colour scheme came about quite naturally; as the doors had a very convenient white strip along them. It's probably my most cohesive colour blocking thus far.
Here's some close-up photos...
Well, that's one more creation finished! Now to wait for some more inspiration. ;) Anyway, thanks for taking the time to look, feel free to browse around my other pages...
See ya!

Good looking machine! You've used your bricks in a very creative way, using doors and bionicle-parts at the rear etc.....I'm impressed ;-) |

Very nice! Impressive flow throughout with a nice semi-linear layout. Love he engine detail and the rest of the greebling, especially those flap pieces on he sides of the nose. Extra kudos for working in the bionicle feet (I had some fun with a hover vehicle using those myself). Nice color blocking as well. Peace ~ Packie |
