Pirate town of Tortuga... modular build
Aye Tortuga... well this is just classic pirate town not very historically accurate or anything just wanted to do a piratemoc for a while... this took many weeks to complete
About this creation

Ok here it is modular build of pirate town i named tortuga after reallife infamous pirate port of to the coast of Haiti...

module 1: Fort... and yes that is historical fact that pirates build forts in their towns as well- real life fortress in Tortuga was Fort De Rocher... this one is my own little fort

smuggler's little dock....

details closer you can see cannons and dungeon and all... i don't bother to tell every detail... i think you can figure them out... even though some pics have a bad lighting....

module 2: harbour.... sorry about the lighting....

here is docks and lots of stuff... fisherman, sailors, boats, cargo etc.

module 3 :market -and another part of the fort... and half of the well in the middle of the square....

street merchant

as you can see i also built underground cavern... hideout for smugglers... but let's look into it later...

module 4: entrance to the Tavern square... and another half of the well....
as you can see there is guy there XD

there is also another half of the tavern- with barmaid and tavernkeeper...

this sailor eats cheese XD

another street merchant...

winecellar for the tavern...

and above it...
slice of a little pirate apartment....

It's admiral who is dunked into the well by pirates... "Help!- I can't swim!"
LOL- poor admiral...

Module 5: Another part of the tavern... and tavern square...there is also biggest part of smugglers cave here...
tavern's sign and door...

the balcony goes inside the another half of the tavern....

in the corner behind the arch there is little piggery... with one actual pig (my only one at the time) and another swine... pirate XD

Joyriding pirates.... they may have drank too much....

with modules 4 and 5 together we have one complete tavern.... as well outside as...

inside...

last module or module 6 has more fortification....

and houses....

this one is a little shop....

and this one... well i think you know what kind of house this is...

No i'm not obsessed with building pirate brothels... but... you know the pirates.... XD

now let's put the city together....

ok some views of the city when modules are put together:

entrance of the cave...

smugglers inside... there is bit dark there...

I hope you like this... it took me hours to complete... so thta's why i haven't been very active lately... sorry about that...

i have one Star Wars battle coming and next part of my comic but i will continue with this pirate theme also now... well i have some ideas and summer holiday so let's see what i come up with :D

Did you use any lego sets, or did any sets somewhat inspired the design? If so, which sets could be taken and be used in this sort of design?

Quoting James Mclellan This is really cool. If you make another one i think you should add a full scale ship instead of the little rafts.
this one was so big i didn't had any parts left for fullscaleship :(

Wow, That's pretty good! Usually, I'm not big on pirates, and I don't think they get enough cred, but when you put them in a moc, perfecto! Can't wait for more!

Excellent as usual Swash! I really enjoy all of the little details you add to your creations, they really bring the moc to “life”. (That idea for a fan was great!) I also love the modular build. This really smacks of an old pirate town, so bravo. I bet it pains you to take them apart after they turn out so well.

Quoting commander revan how did you fill the areas around the well?
with bricks of course... i have to confess i used duplos to fill big areas... good use for them... but using duplos (they are legos after all) is not same as using non-legos such as megabloks :O

Yes I do love this idea of breaking it down into lots of seperate parts then showing them in one moc. They seem so much like they should be real sets! I mean is there anything you can't build?

Your builds are always packed with amazing details. I really like the way you broke down the modular sections and pointed out all the intricacies. My favorite is the chandelier in the tavern and the minifigure action. Well done!
