After the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, the Battlestar Galactica is without ammunition for its Main Batteries. Not only is the Ragnar Station Ammunition Reserve the best place to re-arm the ship, it also offers protection from the Cylon fleet due to the radiation emitted by the planet.

Just started watching the series again last night and finished the intro movie this morning. I loved that weapons depot bit, what a show!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Is this real bricks? And how do you do the background? Please could you comment on some of my mocs. Thanks.
Oh, they're real! However, I put separate pictures of each moc together. As I've said, although the Station is about 2.5 feet across, it's not nearly big enough to dwarf the Galactica like that. So I use Gimp software, scale the images to the proportions I want, and presto! However, taking the photos at the right angles is critical. Backgrounds are all found online, with color modifications of course. The most complicated shot I've done is the last one on the Viper Recon. Thanks for the comment! |

Jeez dude! Idk if your going to read this, but holy freaking crap!!! This is simply amazing. I am a fan of Battlestar Galactica, and this tops my list of favorite builds in this series. How did you design the ship? I have trouble in ship building of that type.
Thanks, man. Well, I printed out as many photos as I could. Some people use actual models/toys as a reference. I first thought I could build the Galactica like the Star Destroyer, magnetic panels over a frame, but that didn't fly, too many gaps and impossible angles. Although the nose and some of the engines are like that. It's a mish mash, and lots of re-dos as it evolved. Of course the Station is a totally different scale, but gotta love the computer effects to create a scene! Glad you liked it. |

Sorry for the delay in getting here... There was a woman with an aardvark and a garden hose and you really don't want the rest of the details. I really like the design of this thing. It reminds me of Bespin. Your presentation is always above and beyond. Never been a HUGE BSG fan myself, but you sir, make it just that much cooler! ~ Chris.
Thanks, Chief! Sounds like quite a party! How come I never get invited to any of these things...
I suggest renting the miniseries and just watching the whole thing like a movie. If you aren't hooked, well, I don't know...But you will be familiar with some of the scenes, already seeing it in Lego form. Thanks again for stopping by! |

Awesome scene (a-GAIN!). Love the station, it looks great. (Was it a tough build, logistically? I would seem to think it would be....) This was a really good scene in the miniseries; the whole concept is fascinating...and then the Ragnar battle was just epic. Great work!
Thanks! It wasn't that big of a challenge, other than building it first, then looking at the pictures, and then building it again due to all the details I missed. But that's how it goes...Glad you like it! |
