The Black October is a recently declassified black project, built by the G.A.I.A. (Here are those better pictures I promised.)
About this creation
One of several hand picked, highly skilled pilots, who receive the privilege of flying the Black October fighters.
A quick salute before take off
Pilot: "Um, yeah, I've got a mission to get to, so picture time is over."
There were some kind words on the old page, and I just wanted to dig them up so I could remember what they say. Honestly, you guys are the reason I keep going building, I love reading the feedback:
WOW. This is amazingly detailed, yet sleek alll over. Excellent work!
Nice work, I love the orange accents, they work perfectly.
The photos are not terrible at all, and the fighter is very cool, I like what you did with those intakes :)
Sexy Beast. That's the only way to describe this one mate. Where do I start? The little things like those insanely cool angled orange grills on the underbody intakes, the killa color scheme, the amazing greebling on the rear engines section, (especially that angled exhausts array) it just all comes together in brutal/graceful style. The pic from the front at almost ground level was my favorite, shows just what a beautiful shape you have made. I am gonna have to do an 18th fleet specific build to thankyou for adding such a great fighter to G.A.I.A. Wicked fighter Aidan!
i like this, it reminds me of a black bird :D
All black is hard for seeing the details but it looks sooo cool. I like the engine part most (read and bottom view pics).
I think this is one of the most detailed all-blacks I've seen in quite some time. Awesome job, this is one handsome fighter! I see you got away from RDR long enough to build again. Keep it up! -Ultra)
When I first saw this one I thought you were doing a black-ops version of my Flamberge! Then I realized you were just doing the same thing for Parrington that I did and that was create your own version of one of his birds. I especially like the detail you incorporated around the engines. The only thing I would change is to add more color to the fuselage. The only problem with an all-black anything is that the detail gets lost too easily. One other thing is to use a background that's not shiny. I've had this problem too and I discovered using a non-shiny sheet will help. Keep up the good work
Quoting Matt Hanson 1) trans/orange cheese wedges would look great on the front orange slopes. 2) the pilot's visor...not so much.
Thanks for the C+C man. I love hearing how people think I can improve my builds, because it helps me progress. For point number one, when I first made this I only had 4 dark bley cheese slopes. Yeah, that's it. I do have trans-orange ones now, and interestingly enough, I had the same thought, but I felt it extended the tips too much, and didn't quite look right to me. I have still used them. As for the visor, well, I didn't like solid black or trans, because I wanted some colour on his head, so here we can agree to disagree. Thanks again for the feedback!
Dude, why haven't I seen your ships until now?? Great work! Your builds are pro: built complicated, turn-out looking simplisticly good. Beautiful ship here. I personally love using black, and this ship is executed gracefuly in it. And the engineering for that cockpit to open like it does...stunning! Two things though: 1) trans/orange cheese wedges would look great on the front orange slopes. 2) the pilot's visor...not so much.
There's much more cool features, details and nice part usage then one can expect at first sight, because the sleek design seems very smooth at first. A surprising and really brillant MOC ! PS in answer to your question, sadly I didn't remember the reference of the part and was unable to find it on Bricklink, because it's a weird and uncommon part...
Well done, the first words out of my mouth were something along the lines of "Freaking Beautiful":) The SR22 Blackbird is one of my favorite airplanes, and this beauty of a ship reminds me of her very much. One of my favorite details is the wings, and how well thought out and greebled they are. Good work, and keep bricking!
I remember to wrote a comment earlier for this one. Guess you deleted it to post this one with much better pictures. Sure it still have a 5/5 rating. I like it very much! Great shape, nice details. I still like the strong use of black color.
These pics came out much better and definitely highlight the strong points of this fighter! One thing I am still curious about is how the canopy opens. It looks like it slides open when that one section pops up. How exactly does that work?
