About this creation
The MT-01 was introduced to the Great Colombian army shortly after the fall of San Fernando, it is to help in the invasion of Caracas. This APC has the capacity to hold 6 passangers comfortably (and about 9 uncomfortably), a gunner, and (obviously) a driver. It had enough armor to withstand most enemy fire, or an indirect blast from a grenade. It was used extensively in the final days of the Venezuelan invasion, providing quick support on the frontlines. For unknown reasons it was introduced into service much later than anticipated. Colombian troops have taken the habit of calling this APC as "Chiguiro"(capybara), though no one knows exactly where the nickname originated.
View of the left side, here you can admire a Colombian flag as well as some ventilation.
< View of the right side.
Butt shot, always a winner.
A face only a mother could love!
Closer shot of the right side.
Redundancy.
Because you can never be too sure.
Gunner can spin. w00t
Back door opens, and a slightly taller than average minifig can stand up inside without any problems.
Perhaps my favorite part, an actual interior. A great improvement from my last military land vehicle. Now you may be asking yourself: "How the (insert profanity of your choice here) do the minifigs sit, well....
Although I did not invent this sitting technique it's just great. It offers more realism and economises space.
For those of you veteran wheeled vehicle builders this may seem as simply standard, but considering my last vehicle didn't even roll much less have suspension, I feel this is quite a large step.
Suspension design stolen from Andrew Somers.
Almost forgot a pic of the driver's seat. Oddly this reminds me of the MTH-02's unphotographed cockpit...
Did you know that...
...I had to alternate the two stand in soldiers I have, due to a low number of minifigs?
...the soldiers here are NOT Great Colombian soldiers?
...between building and photographing this it took nearly a month?
...procrastination is fun?

W0W. Should I expect sw comics?
You can expect a C.O.P vig, and after that I may begin working on Vengence IV.

Oh, and thanks for giving the credit!
If anything I owe you more credit, several aspects of this APC were heavily based of some of your vehicles, such as the gunner and the inspiration to include suspension at all.

...my favourite detail was once again the flag. Funny that such a simple detail can get so many people's atention.
And thanks to everyone for the great comments! |

The Columbian flag is a nice detail, the interior is quite cool. Do the front wheels feature a suspension as well? Good job!
I think you mean the back wheels, since the suspension shot only show the front wheels' suspension. Either way all the wheels feature suspension, I focused more on functionality on this one, since on my MTH-02 I focused mainly on looks, leaving it as more of a display model than a real LEGO set.

Scrumdadidaliumptiousness. Nice design, but you say only 9 can fit?! You obviously aren't stacking 'em right. Hush you. That's what I want the enemy to think, over 9000 troops fit in there.

Despite leaving the Pacific Empire, you still use the naming system Nick and I came up with... Hmm, suspicious. Cool car bro.
Chronologically speaking this was developed before Great Colombia left the Pacific Empire, future names will probably be in spanish. |
