A very labor intensive MOC. Not quite completed, but posted here anyways.
About this creation
I had this MOC planned as a study in slick sloped studless building (say that three times fast). This MOC took about a month of on and off building. It was a lot harder to make than I originally planned, and I had to drop many of the planned elements (like having a finished MOC). Overall though, I am satisfied with the MOC, and like the way it looks.

When I first thought of this I was going to make it the personal starship of Hans "LEGO" Brix, intergalactic weapons inspector. But I had to scrap that along with finishing the ship when I realized that it was just too small (and the interior too complex/fragile) to use for anything.

It would have been a great ship, if I'd made it bigger...

I didn't have enough pieces to finish off the ship, so I did two sides and called it a day. What you see here is how I held it together. One rubber band inside the ship at the midsection, and one on either end.

This MOC all started out with the landing gear. At first they didn't have the three engines in between them, and I wanted to use them for some alien craft. But I soon realized that they would make really good struts for a retro rocketship.

The rubber band was all that I could think of. Of course, it works well, it's just really ugly.

Well, it surely has lots of detail, excellent greebling, smooth surfaces and pretty elaborate techniques, but the fact that the rubber bands are on the outside instead of holding it together from the inside doesn't look very good, or at least, I think it'd look better if you managed to find some way to put all of them inside. Still, very good job.

That's really cool, I like space ships that have moving parts to them.

It looks like Dr. Evil's ship from the Spy Who Shagged Me. My God, it looks like a giant- Johnson! Give me a status report on the rocket.

That's some sweet rubber-band tech.
