KMS Bismarck (Completed)
KMS Bismarck, at around 1/72 scale. She is complete, it took about 5 months and several hundred legos, and hours. I placed her on a 10 1/2 foot long board, by 2 1/2 feet. I painted the board blue to simulate water and to add a seperation from the base and ship.
About this creation

This is a view from the stern, she (Bismarck) has her aft recognition markings. All her railings are complete, along with her small boats. I placed a small sailing boat on her starboard side. Since the Bismarck is riding at anchor she won't have a wake. Also, since she is stationary I figured I could add more details such as the ladder down her side. I placed a barge for the crew to disembark and return from.

I added a Tug boat with three barges to add more scale to the Bismarck. I tied tires from several different sets to the bow and side. I am still planning on using a sealer with a high gloss to add more reflective properties to simulate water.

Partly because of this posting, I find that you seem to be an expert at building historically accurate ships and I think that you would be a true source of inspiration and a valuable giver of advice to future shipbuilders, so I have taken the liberty to invite you to my new group “Ship Builders guide”.

That is so cool! I tried once to make a Bismarck that size but I ran out of pieces, so instead I made a smaller scale, could you check it out? Again, this is extremely superb! 100000/5

Hey Jim, I used the standard antennaes, the black ones. I went on to the lego site and ordered a ton of them, not all at once. Then it took about two months to cut them down to the size I needed. After which I placed them on the deck and used regular black thread for each rung, (3). After I looped the thread, I used crazy glue to secure it into place. It took months. Easy, but very time consuming.

Now all you need to do is build a u-boat to accompany it. 5/5 :)

I am not good with mathmatics, I guessed it was around 1/48th scale. I don't use a computer, not anything to build ships, just pictures. I start from the ground up, and work from there. Thank you for your comment.

Isn't it more or less a 1/125 scale (counting the number of studs and calcuting its size by the measurement of the table)? For that scale some details are too large (e.g. the main guns). But it looks nice without any question.
