U.S.S Phoenix
A United States Schooner set in the period of the Revolution, or shortly there after.
About this creation
I built this ship shortly after the decommissioning of my biggest ship ever, a 4 masted schooner I had named the U.S.S Charger. I was putting away pieces, when suddenly I realized that since size had been a problem if I went with two smaller ships from her remaining pieces they would be much easier to manage. I started work on this ship, and was so enthralled with her I actually ended up finishing her in about 6 hours, including custom rigging!

Some details of the ship:
Name: U.S.S Phoenix
Armament: 16 main guns
Compliment: 20 crew(haven't arrived yet)
Displacement: 30 tons as rough as I can estimate, probably more.

A first shot of the bow. How would you like that view coming at you as a pirate?

And now one of the stern, the part pirates REALLY want to see.

A closer shot of the stern, showing the double steering wheel, forget what thats called...

And now some of the custom rigging, it actually made the masts remarkably stable!

And finally a close up of the figure head, no idea why I wanted a black knight, but hey.

This ship was my first attempt at custom rigging, and she is my favorite ship I have ever built. Critique and comments are always welcome, I hope you enjoy viewing her as much as I have building her!

Thank you all for such kind comments! And I did try to say "Super sleek sailing ship" 5 times fast....my lord thats hard. Also as to the background, thats the only problem I have with these pics. She would've had one but I didn't have time to set up as my camera died right after I took these pics, and I mean dead as in doornail:P But don't worry, when her sister ship is built she will have the background she deserves for her pics! Glad everyone likes her so much, and again thanks for the comments!

This whole ship is just awesome, except I would recommend using a clear background, black or white for example.

Quoting Alex Mac I've never been fantastic at boats...then again...I've only tried once...Maybe I should test it again. Anyways, nice work, personally, I think I could've gone for even more detail, but this is actually pretty nice! The shape is great, long and thin. :)
Thanks so much! Honestly she could use a bit more detail, but she was mainly an experiment in rigging that turned into a beauty of a ship:) When I order the pieces to complete her sister ship they both will probably get insanely detailed. Thanks for the kind comment!

Quoting Jhayk' Sulliy This is a beautiful boat! I like how you've done the schooners' sail patterns. Very ingenious! I also like the rounded quarter deck. I'm not usually a fan of this style, but you pulled it off. Great job, mate!
Thanks so much for the kind comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great job! I read about it in a book a few years ago. Pretty cool how you made the masts. Look forward to the sister ship you were talking about.

Quoting Sebeus I The masts, sails and rigging is Very nice, but I think you could have put more detail in the ship itself, maybe spice up the stern a bit, add some edges at the sides, Anyway, overall a good job
Thanks to all for the kind comments! And yeah, I admit the deck is a bit sparse, and here's a bit of a secret. She doesn't have any true cannon yet, just short moc ups. But I'm trying to remedy that by putting more detail such as barrels, crates, and putting in orders for a few more bricks so I can give her true cannon, a crew, and some cutlass ect. to make her far more interesting deck wise, also wood tile. All this will be done on her soon to be sister ship as well, but I'm glad that so far you all like her!:D
