It took indeed about a month to complete this, on and off. But mostly off ;) I built the animals first, and then the buildings and enclosures. Do you want her to be naked? Thanks. I'm not happy to not be participating in the MOC Olympics. But I think it's for the best this year ;)

Steef, this is amazing!!! The zebra's etc. are stunning, you did a great job on the birds, simple but recoqnisible. And almost forgot the fountain.....And all together this is one big fantastic moc, must have cost you month's of work to build it ;-)

Wow, what a great zoo! Loved all the details, even poop! The use of various minifigs like clowns, divers and the ninja hiding on the roof was great as well. My favorite bit was the lion house with all the bones, even a human...hahahaha. Good thing for the rest that you are sitting out the MOC Olympics.

Oh, it's yours is it? Could you come and collect it please, because it's wreaking havoc with the guests. That is, we have more visitors coming into the zoo than coming out. Which is probably a bad thing for our records.

Hello and thank you all for your visits and comments. I'm just glad to be finally coming around to building some more stuff. Thank you very much. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the zoo is *exactly* as big as my lego table ;) (3x2 big ground plates). I think you owe it to your daughter to be a one year old pink Godzilla at least once. Maybe one house for her to destroy? ;) That is good news! That is probably the best that I hope can happen with my MOCs, that it inspires others. Thank you very much. I only had to buy the ground plates for this one. Well, I bought the other lego too, of course. But not just for this MOC. Oh, and I bricklinked some fences a couple of months back, when I had the vague intention of doing something like this :) Hah, I'm glad to learn this.

Oh Steef, I was hoping that you not posting anything for a while meant a big project was coming and you didn't let me down! Good looking brick-built animals are a skill in themselves and here you've given us a variety - love the rhino and the cute elephant ears. On top of that it's chock full of detail, the buildings and enclosures look great and you've even given us some humour and easter-eggs (I would pay to go to any zoo with a tentacle monster and ninjas hanging around on the roofs). I envy your skill and patience, your collection and also the space to build something so big - try that at my house and my daughter would wade through it like a 1 year-old pink Godzilla!

Wow. This is so detailed and large i thought that it was never ending! Love the custom creatures, the black tentacle thingy reminded me of a giant squid.

This is really cool, reminds me of when i went up to maine to the York Zoo not to long ago.

A spectacular effort, with gratifying results! Pretty much a winner from every aspect...a favorite? Probably the bones in the Lion Pen! Too much to praise...gotta love it!

If you got some people to help ou (As in make this a joint project) I bet this zoo would be true minifigure scale! Right now it probably makes for a small, local zoo. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad M.O.C. It's massive, and I love the custome animals! P.S. the elephant is my favorite custom.

Very creative Steef! The aquarium was a nice touch, as well as the monster. Although, it'd be nice if we toured the monster's area during feeding time! Some of this reminds me of The Brick Testament guy's stuff - which is a massive compliment.

This is so cool! I love all the brick-built animals and all the different terrains built for them. I once built a zoo although it was no where near as cool as this.
