About this creation
A fair while ago I made this German WW1 mech during a retro robots building spree.

As with a lot of my builds, I was keen to revisit the idea and 'update' it somewhat. I did like the boxy, tower look from the first version but here I wanted to suggest a large potbellied stove or gigantic drum with guns for arms. At first I had the arms swivelling horizontally (like early tanks like the Mk I) but I was aiming for strong anthropomorphic look.

The result is the Tankenmensch V II. Twin heavy machine guns and shredding blades poised just at enemy infantry groin height! Initial tests were promising however in practice on the battlefeild, the Tankenmenschs had an alarming tendency to topple over and crush their own troops...

Awesome design! I've never seen a Lego robot like this before. The face reminds me of old "Wizard of Oz" Tin Man illustrations, very well done.

Excellent design and name, but I don't think a "potbellied" look goes too well with a German walker. I think your original design looks cooler. There is an obvious difference in building techniques, but you can't go past that Mk I's stationary pillbox-head-thing.

Heheheh, das is shfine! Pardon my psuedo german, this is fine mate, just love your 50's feel, and this one is a great little step back to the 40's where Europe and other westerners were just building the coolest stuff all out of steel!

Nice. Your description had me crackin' up. So I gotta ask...what's the parts usage there with the vertical element on top? Don't immediately recognize it.

Pretty neat design, and although i'm not fluent in German, the name fits well. Panzer is specific to armor tanks as opposed to say a boiler type tank which you may have been referring to.

Very nice work, looks great. Btw:I agree with Steef de Prouw because in German there is another word for "Tank": Panzer. "Tanken" = add fuel into your car. "das" is not an the right article for "Mensch", so it would be "der Panzermensch", but the idea was good.

SWEET! I like this version much better than the boxy one. The first was good, the second was better. Kinda like carnal relations with me. ~ Chris.
