1 cylinder vertical steam engine
This is a 1 cylinder vertical steam engine. It runs on compressed air. About 50 PSI. I now, it's a lot but there is a lot of air escaping and not being used for powering the engine. But it runs very smooth. Boring is 32 mm and the stroke is 48 mm. So it's a 49 cc engine.
About this creation

This is a picture from inside the cylinder. I made the combustion chamber like this so the air flow goes in the right direction and pushes harder against the piston.

The pistin is 32 mm x 32 mm. ( 4 x 4 nots)

Translation from below I made it Ludo van der Veen - Hiemstra August 25, 2010 Quoting Siddhart Jaipal beautiful, even more airinjectors there and you can create a synthetic version of a build cylinder engine, you have eg 4 in line V6 or even V8 engine that runs on pure air injection. Now you have like other people in other unspecified media demonstrated that there is a competitive market between fuel, electric or solar energy and full air injection engines. Thank you, I think that in the future like a 4 cylinder in line going to make. But first the hobbyexpo, then I'll break things appart and then there is Lego available for new projects. To be continued ..... PS what about the Ferrari 599 GTB? powered by

Quoting Family Vuurzoon Hi Ludo, Woow! Again a great piece of technology from you on the MOCpages! This MOC is also very useful for technology education. Do you have an mechanical engineering back ground?
Thanks ..... and yes, i am a carpenter. But my interest lies also with technical engineering. So al lot of my moc's are technical. And with Lego you can build and rebuild very easy.

Quoting Nick Barrett Impressive engineering. Does the Lego get hot ?
Thanks, and no the lego don't get hot but get wet instead. Because the air flow is so fast that it condenses out of the air hose from the compressor.Wen the engine runs for a long time then the water spit out of the exhaust. Looks good wen that happens.
