A departure from my usual car MOCs, and my first real attempt at a mosaic. I was trying to find a good companion piece for my Enzo; what better than the Ferrari badge?
About this creation
This project utilizes the concepts of Lego brick ratios to create a small yet detailed mosaic. As you probably know, the height of five plates is equal to the width of two studs. this means that four 2x2 plates stacked up with one 2x2 tile on top creates a perfect cube; it takes up the same space if the studs point up, down, to either side, or in and out. Because the height of a plate is considerably smaller than the width of a stud, it made sense to have the sides of plates facing out rather than studs or tile faces, as on traditional mosaics, in order to create a smaller mosaic that still has decent resolution. in some places it makes sense to have the studs point up, while in others it makes sense to build with studs facing to the side. As long as I build in multiples of 2 studs (or 5 plates) everything fits together.

Very nice! Spot on. I remember recreating this with paintbrush on my computer, it ended up looking just like this (the pixelated look). Thanks for your comment on my Bot :) |

I know I already commented on this but I just had to comment on it again. It's amazing!! It's a pity that only 18 people like this and that there has only been 555 views… it deserves a lot more than this. |

The detail on this is incredible. Still can't believe this is really Lego. Maybe you could try the Lamborghini logo next? |

I'd love to...if I had the time and pieces! Unfortunately, this one pretty much exhausted my mosaic bricks, and I plan on displaying it for a while. Eventually though! |
