RB - MOC Olympics R1 – Jailhouse Rock
This is my entry for round one, category "Jailhouse Rock", in the 2010 MocOlympics
About this creation

MocOlympics 2010

Reporter: Good evening, I'm Al Kétruz with a new live interview from this extra special security jailhouse. Behind the thick iron door is one of the world’s most dangerous persons, Barryl O'Fagun. We'll get an exclusive interview with him and also get to meet his girlfriend Cherryl, who is making her monthly visit. Today Barryl apparently has a question for Cherryl.

Reporter: Nice to meet you, Berryl! Please, tell us, why are you here? What did you do?

Berryl: Mmmmfffff, mff...

Reporter: Oh...guard, can you please remove the mouth thing.

Berryl: Thank you, well, I worked at a fast food chain and I felt people didn't respect me for who I was. And they kept bothering me with extra orders like grilled cheese or bacon so finally I snapped and put all customers in the deep fryer. Oh, ehrm...please don't tell my girlfriend, she still thinks I'm here because of tax-fraud.

Reporter: Oh...of course....speaking of Cherryl, why don't we bring her in now.

Reporter: Hi, how are you?

Cherryl: Hello, fine, thank you. Hi honey!

Reporter: Did you have something you wanted to ask Cherryl?

Berryl: Yes, ahem...well, I know we haven’t seen each other that much lately. But I'll be out soon and...well...Cherryl...will you m...

Reporter: Hold on, hold on, didn't you have something to give her too? (Oh boy, do I have a great closing line for this interview, I'll just wait until she gets that rock on her finger, I can smell that holiday bonus paycheck already)

Berryl: Er, yes...it's in the box next to the window.

Reporter: Ok, perfect, I’ll keep quiet now *wink*.

Berryl: Ok. Well, ahem, Cherryl...will you...make me a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich when I come home? Please? I've been getting these crazy cravings lately.

Reporter: What?! Make you a sandwich? What about the diamond ring?

Berryl: What diamond ring?

Reporter: Well I assumed...then what did you put in the box?

Berryl: Oh, that's Rocky, our new pet rock monster. He can keep Cherryl company until I get out.

Reporter: (Well that sucks, no bonus for me this year...but at least I can still use my clever closing line)

Um...ok folks, that’s what I call a Jailhouse Rock! *sigh* Good night everyone!

Post MOCum:

I know the "rock monster"="rock" thing has been done before (like this great example by Leda) but hopefully the "twist" will make it at least a little original :)

This was my first MocOlympics entry ever, I hope it's not the last. It's also my first building/structure/story and the most fun I've had since picking up the bricks again last spring! But now I really see how much I need more bricks and fortunately this Monday my family will take a much needed trip to Legoland in Billund, Denmark. You'll probably find me in the PAB-section hogging the light grey, dark grey and tan.

Thanks for reading!

That afro hair would be the only custom I'd make without regret. 7 points.

Cute idea. Gave me a little giggle and the presentation was actually quite good. 6 points! ~ Chris.

Quoting Finn C-Q Well, it appears we had the same idea...
It was bound to happen sometime with these open categories. Don't think the judges will reduce points for the same ideas, at least not after the recent events of removing the DQs. Anyway, I'm sure your build will be better. Looking forward to seeing your entry. Good luck!

Quoting ElNickre . I thought that the photography was quite good. The blurry backgrounds really allow people to focus on the subjects. Great creation!
Thank you! Hope the judges see it the same way as you :)

Looking back, I shouldn't have used such short focal distance, it got a bit too blurry.
