My first attempt at creating a MOC based on a real vehicle.
It's a Renault Magnum truck with trailer. It's 8 studs wide and it's almost entirely made using SNOT techniques, giving it a very smooth look. It's the first time I've attempted something like this...
This MOC has no special functions, such as steering and suspension, unlike many of my other MOCs. Those functions would have a large impact on detail. Only the trail has those "feet" that go up and down when the spare tires on the back are turned.
This second version was finished on 09 September 2006 and it was made using parts I had left after finishing the HotRod II.
This was also the first MOC present at Forum 0937.
The version you see here is the second version, improved and completed a few days after the first one.
Super sweet workout of the Magnum cab. I tried it ones, its hard to do. the colorscheme works perfect. to bad Lego doesn't make the right windshield for this purpose.
SNOT = Awesome. I especially love the details of the slopes in the wheelwells...I tried a similar design for a space rover once, but never finished it. The stabilizer/feet things are also a simple but great detail, built in to look like normal construction. SNOT on!
very realistic;) they look A LOT like my 8 stud wide trucks;p you should check em out there are not at all built the way yours is which is quite amazing because the result is very similar
