The aim was NOT to create the most badass-looking nor the most realistic ship model. The goal was a model of ship fitting nicely my room and pleasant to the eye. Also, I decided to use no ropes nor custom pieces (including sails).
About this creation
Comparisions to a wooden model
The masts
On my shelf
The gun deck with entrance to the captain's cabin
Ladders for the small upper deck
From an elegant angle
My custom sail-holders
A small fortune
The rowboat placed with chains (custom building method)
Entertaiment corner for the crew
Rum corner
Side shot with four cannons visible
Steering wheel and the world map
The ship belongs to great Kashubian Pirates
Mast riggings are inside, not outside ; maybe not realistic, but seems more practical - they are protected from water a bit more
The only piece of real-life rope is the one in the anchor
Lanterns and halberds for eventual rigging-cutting in storm
Another deck view
Two shots of the whole front section with the moving cabestan
Even more of the gun deck, notice the barrels and a heckaload of cannonballs
Three photos of the whole ship
Ladders leading to the gun deck from the front section and some weapons in the brown box
The figurehead and my hamster's cage in the background
The back of the ship
Captain's cabin with a piano, a chair and two back windows visible
Side view, gunports closed
Love the idea of having a shark here!
Side view, gunports open
The whole rowboat (I know, a bit too dark) - it contains a lantern, two paddles, a small mast, a barrel full of gold, shovels and pickaxes ; it is used for evacuation, communication with land and transporting things from the land to the ship
